Since i got my Copper Ostrich belly bag i've been thinking about another ostrich bag. It's so addictive i know. My SA is able to find me the purple ostrich clutch and caramel ostrich George V bag on sale. I can only afford one more of them and i will be on a ban for the next 2 years!
I love the purple color but the open and close is a pain. My sa attached 2 photos showing me the fast way to close it. I've never used a clutch before. I also love the caramel ostrich George V. Which one should I get? |

Hi, I never saw the George V in that color, caramel ostrich, or did I know that the ostrich comes in that color..Truthfully, I think that this bag is a forever bag, timeless and chic..whereas the purple ostrich is pretty, I don't think you will get a lot of use out of it, if you never wear clutches.. If you need a clutch, start with a more classic looking one..

That purple clutch is heavenly!
You should buy what you use more of, especially if this will be your last bag for 2 years! |

It goes without saying that both are incredible bags.
In my life, I really only get to use a clutch like that a few times a year. On the other hand I'd be able to use the George V bag all the time. I agree with Prestwick that it is a forever bag. The lavender color is tdf, but I vote George V. |

I think you will get more use from the caramel. I read another post from someone who bought the purple ostrich based on ads she had seen and then was a bit disappointed when she got it. I'll try to find the post,

The caramel ostrich is just fab. You will be able to get alot of use from this bag. Works casually and I bet you will enjoy having this.

The color of the clutch is tdf! I wanted the ostrich clutch very badly too but I had to resist as I'm not much of a clutch person. After reading the posts ReRe referred to above I'm glad I decided against it. The colour seems really pretty but I would probably end up using it less than 5 times a year.
I vote for the George V. It definitely looks like something you'll get to use alot more. Do let us know what you decide and post pics! |

i think it totally depends on what bag style gaps you have and therefore which bag you will use more. both are utterly fabulous. if you think the clutch is a pain, then go for the camel. there can be other clutches (um, like the ash envelope pitone:)) that do not have a difficult opening

Thank you everyone for your opinion. It looks like most of you vote for the George V :)
ReRe, thanks for the link of that post. I did see a lady carrying the Purple Ostrich Belly bag in a mall and i just can't keep my eyes off the bag. I found myself following her for about a minute and then realised i was walking in the wrong direction!!! I know if i really get the clutch i might just take it out and admire it and put it back in the dust bag. I might do the same with the ash envelope pitone :) I originally wanted to get the Copper Ostrich George V but ended up getting the Copper Ostrich Belly bag which i absolutely adore so this is my 2nd chance to get this bag in caramel. I know this bag is more practical but i don't know if caramel is easy to take care of ![]() Decisions, decisions! |

The caramel color is just gorgeous, IMO, and different enough from the copper in terms of design and color that it will not be a duplication. I have another ostrich bag - a large veneta in Luce - a color very similar to the caramel, and I do not find it difficult to take care of.
I do have and use a few clutches in my collection, but they are large, not oversized. I do not want to carry a clutch that cannot carry my things, so I look for a large clutch in an exotic and beautiful design... and they are easy to open and close. The purple ostrich certainly qualifies in terms of exotic and beautiful design, but might not work for me in size and easy of operation. That part is for you to decide. I do not carry my clutches very often - a few times maybe 10-12 times per year, but when I do, I am so glad that I have them! I know that you will make the right decision for you! |

as the happy owner of the vachette knot and the ash pitone envelope clutch i can tell you that because i love both so much, i am finding more opportunities to use them - they and the violet clutch can be used in casual and dressy situations.... and be slung into another BV. yes, i carry TWO bags sometimes.
