I agree w/ you. I plan on using it by itself but also IN my Cabat and duffle bags.

Whenever I buy something I try to think it terms of price per wear for the item, which is why me one and only clutch is fairly cheap. I do not mind spending more on a bag that I would wear a lot though. Purple ostrich clutch is certainly TDF (did I mention that I loooove purple?) but I would not be able to justify it. I am not yet in position to buy such an expensive item to just carry it inside a bag or display on a shelf.

both bags are beautiful. that being said i'm not sure which you should get.

the purple clutch is so beautiful that even if you didn't use it often, when you did it would be perfect. i have 2 clutches- a hermes jige and the bottega book bag ( i use it like a clutch). i don't use them often but when i do it is really special and perfect. i feel so good carrying them that it is worth it to me. they give me so much confidence.
i am just not sure if the purple ostrich will have any color changes from hand carrying it- absorbing hand oils etc. and if so would the patina be even.
those more knowledgeable about ostrich will have to help there.

the other bag is also very beautiful but you seem already concerned about the light color. i have never been successful in overcoming the fear of carrying a light color bag. i recently parted with a hermes toile bag. just couldn't get past the worry about color transfer and staining. luckily the resale on hermes is good so i got my nero cabat.

hope some of this is helpful- can't wait to see what you decide- either way really beautiful choices.

this may sound odd... how about saying no to both? i could not imagine myself having a purse ban for 2 years, and the point is, unlike the copper belly, u cannot make the decision based on gut instinct this time. if u hv some reservations forboth bags, i would say wait for another piece that u hv no difficulty to say an absolute yes. i m sure more ostrich bags will be coming, we just have to trust mr maier.

^^This sounds like a sensible approach to me. Only go for the things you love and don't make you second-guess. Good luck deciding!

I will get the purple ostrich clutch. The purple looks so nice on this clutch. i also think the george V is kinda similar to the belly...

Update.... I am getting the Caramel Ostrich George V

I called the BV store in Landmark last night and the SA said they have the caramel ostrich George V that's great as i haven't seen this color in real life. When i tried it in the store i really love the color! It looks very springy and summery. It also fills the color gap in my collection as most of my bags are in darker color. I don't know why i never pay attention to caramel! The purple ostrich clutch is so pretty but i think i should be more practical. I might still get a clutch at some stage.

Thank you everyone for helping me choose.

BTW, while i was browsing around one SA thought my Copper Ostrich Belly bag was their display bag and unzipped it trying to show it to another customer. She was so apologetic afterwards :)

While i was in the store I tried on a lots of bags including an off white croc cabat that was about US$60,000 A girl can only dream!

.... I bet that the SA was very embarrassed!
On the other note, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! - It is an amazing color in a very amazing bag - and the intrecciato and E/W shape makes it different that our glorious Cu belly! IMO, if you are going to get a lighter color, then ostrich is the right hide in which to get it. I cannot wait to see your pictures!
