Girls Im sick of spending money on bags I love for a bit (latest crock Fendi bag, say no more) so Im going to become a die hard BV shopper. Now tomorrow Im either getting the Sloane in black now I have a ton of black bags but all with gold or silver hardwear so I like this one because it have none, but my problem is I really fancy that tiger Veneta too will I get sick of it though??? I like fancy shoes and jewllery so the sloane could be better? Arghhh what to do???

have you seen one IRL? you really have to try it on i think. also your choice depends on what your wardrobe is like and what you would wear more. if you tend to black, going against that might result in a lovely bag that you never wear.... nero venetas are lovely too so don't forget to try that one with the sloane and the tiger.
the tiger veneta is lovely, the print is handpainted. personally i am a conservative about my bags, so for me this would not be my first BV purchase.... if you do get one, you certainly will be getting a distinctive BV piece. i think veneta can be elegant. in another post i wrote about a beautiful lady i saw completely turned out in a suit, gucci heels, and a slouchy ebano veneta. good luck with your decision! we definitely want to hear what you do, and welcome to the BV forum! |

Well, I have a ton of black bags too, Tote, but I wouldn't let that influence my decision. Except, I have a ton of black bags because I use black bags the most. Have you looked at the pleated black Veneta? It is very elegant. As for animal printed bags, I've got a couple of those, too. Definitely not an everyday bag, unless you also wear solid colors. I hope BookerMoose replies because she just got a leopard print Montaigne, a WOW bag.

Yes, I do have the Tiger Print Veneta's cousin, the Leopard Print Montaigne (thanks to jburgh), and love it, and have also seen the Tiger Print IRL!! I like the fact that both prints are not TOOO in your face so I feel comfortable wearing my Montaigne even in a business setting. I do find that it looks best when I'm wearing solid colours, though (although maybe that is just me) so if you are wanting a wear-with-anything choice the Nero Sloane is probably better (plus I love the woven look in Nero - it just looks so much more interesting than plain black, without needing hardware to bling it up). But if you already have lots of black bags then I would suggest going with the Tiger Print, since it isn't going to be around beyond this season, unlike the Nero.
Let us know what you decide - and be sure to post pictures too!!! |

I love your bag, BM. I debated buying one but at the end of the day, I decided it was impractical for me. Glad you are loving yours.

This is my two cents. The tiger print veneta speaks to me because the veneta is my favorite BV style and I love having them in different colors and fabrications. But I've lived long enough to see animal prints come and go many times. When they're gone they're really gone. I've never followed fashion trends but if I dragged out something in animal print when it was in it's gone cycle I felt really dated.

Try to think long-term. Is the tiger print one you will love a year or 2 from now? Personally I wouldn't invest in something quite so different, but I can't afford too many bags or for them to be "it" bags. I need longevity.

I think animal print will always be in style. You see it in some incarnation every year. I love the LPM more than the tiger...but that is just me...just like spots more than stripes.

To me, the tiger print looks and feels more "wind-swayed reed" rather than "tiger". I've never been an animal print person or a veneta person, but when I saw the large and mini at the boutique they grabbed my heart ever so gently and surely. All BV's animal prints this season are not literal but very natural that they'd go beyond seasons imho.
So Tote, have you found your BV?? Do let us know!! |

I prefer the sloane over the veneta, but only slightly. And I'd get the sloane in noce rather than nero coz the noce in nappa umbria has interesting variations.
The tiger veneta is beautiful but I'm concerned that it being a hobo bag, the print could rub off in time against clothes. |
