Default utterly confused...please advise
hello bv lovers! i lurk here all the time and decided i will try to get a ferro sloane soon! now, the method of purchase is confusing me! i opened a Saks card a long time ago before i got into handbags. now that i'm addicted just like everyone else, i found out there are egc events that allows you to get gift cards based on the amount you purchase. so here's my question. what is a better deal?

1) get the ferro sloane NOW because Saks is having the friends and family event which gives an automatic 20% discount and no shipping fee AND using my Saks mastercard which will earn me some points.

OR

2) wait for a Saks egc event and get gift cards through my sloane purchase (i don't know how many dollars i must spend to get an egc card either).

for the life of me, i can't figure out which might be the better deal. is there anyone here that can help me out?

I'm not positive how the Saks card events work. Getting 20% off the Sloane is huge though. It takes it down to $1960, plus no tax and no shipping. I just went through this yesterday with a Nordstrom purchase.

I thought you could get a $25 card for each $250 you spend with Saks, but I'm not positive. If that is the case, I think you would do better to get it now with the F & F discount. Hopefully, someone more experience will add their comments.

Like you, I'm always trying to get a bargain if I can. Always best to consider more than one option if it's available.

Good luck.

I calculated it with the SA before I bought mine, and it was definitely the F & F discount! I was debating because there was that giftcard thing going on- You got $375 with any purchase over $2000 or something like that earlier this month.

thanks debbie

there is tax though, just no shipping charge. i did the math and it still comes out to be about $2121 after it's all said and done.

you didn't get charged a sales tax for your purchase through Nordstrom?

it's outrageous how my brain shuts down when i have a bag in mind and must get it within a time constraint.

^^I didn't have to pay any tax because I live in SC and we do not have a Nordstrom in SC. I specifically didn't buy from Saks, because we do have one of those in Charleston. LOL Sometimes, I wish we had better stores where I live, but I have to admit, I love it when I don't have to pay any taxes. LOL

When I bought my Hermes So Kelly at the Charlotte Boutique in NC, I had it shipped to my home in SC so I didn't have to pay over $400 in taxes.

Hi there....getting a discount on a ferro sloane never happens. I've been stalking the Ferro color (in general) and decided to go for it! Now is the time. :)

If the Ferro Sloanes sell out at Saks, try the Nordstrom in downtown Seattle. I saw one there today.
