I received an express mail package on Saturday.

No brown box. No silver paper, but packed well enough for protection. I opened the box, and a subtle smell of leather greeted my nose, but not as strong as my nappa or cervo bags... yes definitely a BV - a limited edition BV - a limited edition of exotic skin, in an amazing golden color that could easily be confused with some of the current colors being offered, like caramel and saffron. But it is not of this season - or last, either. I was not planning to add to my collection, but when I saw this, I fell in love. I waited for days before acting, and could not believe that it was not snapped up immediately... well, you know, no accounting for taste, they say. Knowing that I had an SO on the way, I did not buy anything when the big sales were in progress, but this one did come from one of those inventory reductions. There were only 59 of these produced, and you could only acquire it from one vendor. The condition is immaculate, and the lining of the zipper pocket is suede! It is a variation on a theme I love, and I am so thrilled, I cannot stop looking at it, touching it, and smelling it.

It is a really different type of leather, but with all of the tactile qualities of a good BV leather. I have never had anything in this type of hide, and nothing in this color. Any guesses??? I will take and post pictures tomorrow when the light is better.
