Default tomas maier moving to... armani??
I read an article over the weekend about armani retiring in the very near future due to his illness and now actively looking for his successor and a very strong candidate is tomas maier....

It is just a rumour but if mr. maier ever moves to armani, do you think bottega can keep its understated but incredibly sophisticated design???

I cannot find the source, but has any of tpf members heard of this story?

The only related story that I've read was in the Sartorialist, not that it says Mr. Maier is the actual candidate, but just said it would be great.

The Armani Question

I sincerely hope that Mr. Maier stays with BV. The beauty of TM meets BV is too precious to be lost.

Isn't or didn't John Paul Gautier just leave Hermes? Send him there and leave our Tomas alone!

I would seriously go into mourning (not to trivialize anyone's losses) if Tomas Maier leaves BV for any reason. He's a genius and the company would not be the same. I think BV is one of the more profitable companies in the Gucci group.

boxermom- i agree with you but was too afraid to say it after the reaction to my comments re: the martha stewart appearance.

I knew what you were saying on that thread, but Booker replied better than I would have. More people agreed with you than disagreed. I have owned LV (not currently and don't think I will again) but I don't ever want BV to become ubiquitous like LV is.

I would be heartbroken if he left and Annie, I understood what you meant. It's not wanting BV to become a household name.
