I'm perseverating here. (I have a good friend who calls it "Mental Masturbation.") Not that I even should be spending this kind of money, but for the sake of the conversation, let's ignore that. As some of you may already know, I recently purchased a preloved White Grommet Hobo. It is basically a Large Veneta (I think so!) with some fancy rivets on it. It is an absolutely gorgeous bag, but being white, not something I feel really comfortable about carrying everyday. So, I'm trying to figure out what my next BV purchase should be.
Here are my considerations: I already own some handheld LV's and Marc Jacobs bags in neutral colors (LV Mono, Damier, Azur, gray, black, and nude.) They're all wonderful, but not so easy for everyday, so I'm looking for a shoulder bag. I'm not a "little purse" girl, and I need something large enough to hold my stuff, but I can't deal with a HEAVY purse. I L-O-V-E the woven leather bags that are classic BV. Their other styles are beautiful, but not what I'm looking for. I don't have to have a zippered closure, but I do want a bag that stays shut when it's being carried and sitting down on its own. I've pored over the pic threads and the "in action" threads to try to determine whether I'd be happiest with a Large Veneta, a Ball Bag, or a Sloane, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Also, how wearable are the bags in colors? I don't tend to wear much red in my wardrobe, but the BV reds look scrumptious! That's all I can think of to say right now. All of your comments are welcome! TIA. |

I'd get the Pyramid (again) before any of the others.

I voted for the Old Ball Bag
- gives you a large drop for wear with winter wear and sits nicely on the shoulder - is lightweight - has a zippered compartment for safety and 4 pockets to slip phone, keys, etc... - Comes in some really nice colors... The Old Ball Bag probably holds the lease in terms of size but is the most functional, IMHO. I love my Sloane, but it is not an 'everyday' easy to wear bag. The Veneta fits a lot, is lightweigt but the zipper is the killer for me. Hope that helps! Cheers, |

Large Veneta here too. It holds the most and fits most comfortably under the arm.
My second fave for wearability is the Old Ball - if only the main compartment held more I'd put it in a tie with the large Veneta . The Old Ball does hold a lot IMO - just nothing individually too big ifn's you need that in a pinch.Still Sloane, just sayin'....

I didn't vote because I dont have a sloane.
But I want to say if you have alot of things to carry, NEW ball is not for you. It doesn't hold much because of the open top. I don't have sloane or pyramid, but from what I've read and what I felt from trying them on, I think pyramid is more of an everyday bag. Large veneta can carry lots. but the shape is not for everyone. Most people likes it but not many loves it. I have tried the old ball and it's great. I love the 4 side pockets and the zip. But wish it comes in more colours. |

Oh and meant to say even if you don't wear red, a red BV could complement almost any wardrobe. I avoid red bags when I'm also wearing purple so I don't look like I'm going to a Red Hat Society meeting! (nothing against those, just not the everyday look I'm going for, LOL) Still I've returned every seasonal/bright BV I've tried - too chicken to spend that much $$ on a fashion color but I am super too safe & boring. Hopefully you'll be more adventurous!!

I've tried on the Sloane and it felt like it "stuck out" too much for me. I have a Pyramid that is less bulky at the bottom than the Sloane and use it often. Have also had the original Ball bag and agree that it doesn't hold as much as the others, though it's very comfortable on the shoulder.
The large Veneta is THE bag, IMO. The handle is the best I've ever tried for shoulder carrying. It stays where you put it and never slips off. With only a couple of zippers, the weight of the bag is minimal (like many other BV's) until you put your own stuff in it. It will slouch and drape to your body to the point where you forget it's there until you need it. It's a perfect design. |

Old ball bag doesn't hold as much, but it's so gorgeous and comfy. I am so organized with that bag, it's scary!!! lol In fact, I think it will go out with me tomorrow.

Large Veneta, though I say that without having tried the old Ball bag. The Sloane is gorgeous and I love the style itself, but it isn't as comfortable on the shoulder or over a coat as the Veneta.
I have four large Venetas and am contemplating another. It's just such a classic, beautiful bag. |

The Maxi V I just got is not heavy and even loaded up is lighter than my speedy 30's or Chanel Jumbo's-it is like a feather on my shoulder-Sometimes,I even forget it is a bag and almost snuggle with it like a favorite Blankie-LOL!!!

If you asked me a couple of days ago I would have said the Sloane for sure! I was wearing mine and loving it.
Now I am wearing my large tiger veneta and now I would say it was the best. I don't have a ball, or I'd probably say it was the best too. So basically I am no help!
