Default Successful HK Meet!

Just reporting to fellow TPFers that we had a successful HK meet!
Ms Piggy, Nymph and I met up on Friday at the BV Landmark store (catabie, sorry you couldn't make it)

we browsed many shops in the landmark, starting with BV, and concluded that Hong Kong is really one of the best places for shopping (lucky me since i live here! although the worst place for my bank account.....)

BV, Christian Louboutin boutiques (!), Roger Vivier, Valextra, Tory Burch (reva flats!), many well-stocked H stores ........ etc etc

I will leave Ms P and Nymph to update everyone about their HAULS over here in hong kong.

Dang!! Wished I could make it but work commitments is preventing me from going anywhere till after Sept!! Hope it was all fun and just like the HK tourism ad goes, "Buy stuff, eat stuff, buy stuff, eat stuff (in mandarin)"... pictures and updates please???

Any chance of another meetup in late Sep? My DW is planning on HK then!

Hello everyone!

Just popping by to say hello. I honestly haven't done any shopping! All my time was spent meeting up with friends an colleagues - some of whom I don't even meet up regularly in Singapore!

But I did bump into ms piggy and hubby again, at the Apple building you recommended, mrsDIY. What are the chances? I hope ms piggy got lucky there

Gotta run cos meeting a friend for brunch, and maybe lunch with the colleagues here. Ykes!

Anyhow, mrsDIY and ms piggy are both absolute sweethearts, and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them, and would love to, soon again.

Hello, hello. Finally am able to check in here after arriving back last night. As triggerpuff mentioned, HK is truly a "eat and shop, and eat some more and shop some more" holiday trip - well at least for me, LOL!

mrsDIY88 and myself met up first at the BV Landmark store. We browsed the store and chatted with the SAs (who were quite obviously bemused we knew so much about the brand). We then moved on to check out the rest of the stores (Valextra, Roger Vivier etc). Nymph then joined us and we proceeded to have lunch at Harvey Nichols - a good choice as it was really conducive for girl talks and loads of eye candies for bags (Hermes and BV) as well as celebraties and socialites. (We spotted HK star Melissa Ng and her 40cm Black Birkin seated 2 tables away).

The 3 of us hit off like we were long time friends catching up and couldn't stop yakking (talking). And we were so excited to meet we completely forgot to take pics of ourselves nor the bags! It's funny how we are all from Singapore and ended up meeting in HK instead. We gotta do one meet here in Singapore, yeah.

mrsDIY88 was really sweet to share her favourite shopping haunts and tips. Needless to say I managed to score more buys thanks to her, LOL. And yes, DH and I bumped into Nymph and her friend when we checked out the Apple Mall recommended by mrsDIY88. They do have great stuff there and I found a lovely dress.

HK is indeed the shopping mecca of Asia (excl Japan), there's really no doubt about it!! There's a wide variety of choices and service (most times) are wonderful. And not forgetting the strong Singapore dollar is really to our advantage.

No bags for me this trip but loads of shoes (I'm a shoe freak when not into bags) and a little something from BV and H. I will post the buys and pics of HK later tonight when I get home. Stay tune!

wow, ms P sure made it sound like an amazing meet. all true of course.

when i suggested going to the Harvey Nichols (4th Floor, similar to the 5th Floor London restaurant), it was because it was a nice place to sit down and chat.

but we had a bag watching bonanza there. the bag watching was seriously good! such a bonus! we saw a few lovely birkins going by, and we nearly had whiplash just eyeing all those bags (after which we would immediately turn to each other and go "Did you just see that bag?").

We should try to have BV meets in many cities. (HK, London, New York, Singapore and SF?) so much fun and frivolity!

Whoa..... the meet-up sure seems successful and great fun.... it's not often that we get one group of ladies sharing the same admiration for bags being sighted! (I have not had this chance... when I'm out with my girlfriends, they can't understand my oohs and ahhs of those gorgeous bags I sighted , so most times, I'll just sneakily admire them , all by myself !

Ms Piiiiiiigggggy.....where are you...... can't wait to see the loot you got from your trip!!!!
