Default Spreading BV Love
I was out at Saks the other day when I got a comment on pleated Veneta. Suddenly this other woman and I were into a heavy discussion about my bag! She even tried it on and we looked at all the stuff I could fit inside. Then she exclaimed over how light it was. I'm sure the SA's thought we were nuts.
This is what happened as a result of the conversation: She decided to buy one from Neiman's and I decide to NOT buy my Navy Balenciaga bag. I am waiting for BV to do a navy. My Veneta is actually one of the most satisfying purchases I have ever made. I buy a lot of bags- low end, high end, and it always seems like my initial thirll fades. I love the Veneta more every time I carry it. Anyone else feel like this after coming to BV from other brands?

Yes! I only carry BV now, and I really only buy BV too. I feel guilty buying other brands, I think I could put the money towards a BV instead. Also...BV did do a navy this season! I believe it comes in the roma and sloane. Not sure what other styles. I believe the sloane is on net-a-porter.

Most of my bags are BV and I tend to use them more than any other brand. However, I still grab my LV piano cabas and my most practical bag is my Prada vitello daino. You can't beat those side pockets.

Totally! I carried Tod''s before I discovered BVs and still like my Tod's Kate Bauletto when I travel cos of the zipper with lock, wide boxy base and the pockets outside, but I've been so enamoured of my BVs I've only been carrying them for the past half year. Occasionally dh comments that my other bags have been neglected and asks to see some of them so I take them out. Otherwise, I just love my BVs especiallly my venetas.

Doloresmia- I think the Sloane is not a style I am into (yet!). I am hoping for another Veneta or Pyramid in navy. Although your ferro pyramid is amazing! I was rather proud of myself for resisting the Balenciaga, I like it, just not enough. I think I was lured by the bargain...

I love BV, but also love my Choos and Ferragamo bags. When I am shopping, I always strike up conversations with other gals shopping in the designer bag department. It is fun to share the excitement, and often we show each other bags we like. I realize I will probably never see these gals again, but it is fun to share your passion.

I have come to BV as a first time owner after a long admiration from afar. I have, on my travels, owned bags from the LV Epi range, Hermes and Chanel with regular appearances from Anya Hindmarch, Lulu Guinness, Mulberry and occasionally wild cards like Westwood and English Eccentrics and it is BV that seems to 'click' most for me. I cannot believe the gorgeous leather and how light the bags are. I love that the woven leather seems so delicate and intricate but is really practical as well as beautiful. It is a love affair!

I was in Hermes (Taka) just the other day.
I was carrying my Cabat.
She was carrying a 28cm croc Kelly

I was asking to to look at the Kelly wallet.
She was asking to look at the Hermes Bolide.

It ended up with her asking me about my Cabat, and I let
her hold it to check on the weight and size.
We both ended up talking about BVs right in the face of the Hermes SA!

Both of us finally walked out without buying any Hermes!

I love it! I don't know why it took me so long to find BV. I really do own some random bags that at the time I felt like I had to have (some I still love) and the thrill didn't last long. This BV is amazing- perhaps I was waiting for the pleated veneta. I love this style- it takes a simple, classic shape and gives it a little something extra. I only really regret (to the point where I can't look at the bags) 1 hogan bag, my tod's mikey, and 1 chanel retro flap. That's 3 BVs!

I think I love BV's/Tomas Maier's aesthetics/philosophy more than anything else. I can't explain it well, but it just feels so right.

Serena, I know exactly what you're saying! This summer, I discovered BV here, fell in love and acquired two venetas in the process. But the brand was just so expensive (plus the fact that DH somehow recognized the Veneta i was carrying preventing further acquisitions) so I drifted and ended up falling in love with Balenciaga. I thought the latter was more accessible in the sense that there are more deals that could be found with that brand (i.e. e-bay, online consignment stores and other retailers). But after using one of my Balenciaga bags for two weeks, I decided to go back to using my Veneta as the leather of the latter is just way above the others in terms of quality and feel. Although the Balenciaga I had was really soft, I was a bit disappointed that it started showing signs of wear after just two weeks (like fading and whitening of the leather). My veneta has softened a lot but it still looks new in terms of appearance. This made me appreciate the brand now more than ever.

And like you, I'm waiting for a dark blue bag. I had my eyes set on the Balenciaga marine before but now have decided to save for another Veneta.
