I have seen the armatura IRL, and it is amazing!!! I would describe the color as a German silver or nickel silver - which is not really silver in color as we know sterling (which is a neutral white metal), but rather a warm silvery color. German silver is really an alloy of nickel, copper and zinc, (contains no silver at all), and it is the copper that gives it the warm or golden tone. Well that is how it looks to me... (and probably much more than you wanted/needed to know).
Congratulations, jburgh and BL!!! A wonderful additons to both your collections! |

OMG, just found this thread, thanks for posting and Bichon Lover and jburgh your bags are absolutely breathtaking. I just emailed our favorite SA, before I read this thread because still confused on the colors. From your pix, it leans more towards goldish bronze than silver--is that right?
I'm after the more silver in color, so would that be the elephant? But that looks so much like Old Petra to me. Also is there any worry that the treatment done to obtain the finish of the bag will chip or peel like some finishes can on handbags?? I have the Ferro Roma and absolutely love the color of the bag TIA for your help |

Bronze, but it gets more silvery in bright light not gold. What's so great about it is it keeps changing and picking up the colors that it is around or what you're wearing. I was told the Elephant is more brown with a pinkish undertone. It really is easy.....you have both sent to you if you can't go see them in person and you send back what you don't want. I do it all the time. They call it approval or consignment and don't charge your card till you make up your mind. I don't know why more people don't take advantage of this It's a fantastic way to shop! I only do it when I'm ready to buy though as not to abuse the curtesy. Good Luck!Maybe you want to SO something in Peltro if you really want silver. |

I somehow missed this reveal - congratulations! And I think I need to see both the original and the Elephant Armaturas IRL to figure out what either one looks like - they look amazing but I can't figure out which is which from any of the pictures!

Do you know if the Armatura is subject to peeling or cracking like some of the metallic finishes in other brands? |

Thanks! The first post on this page of the close up should be pretty accurate. The back one is the original (and looks just like mine IRL) and the front one is Elephant Armatura which fit's Bryan's description as lighter, more brown with a pink undertone. He said a warmer feeling overall IRL as it does not turn silvery in brighter light as the original does. Miss Armatura and I are off to buy groceries Ta Ta ![]() BV Fall/Winter 2009! Since someone asked about the Armatura slgs, I took mine out to take a picture and noticed that the edges of my zip around coin purse are peeling a bit. I don't use this case that much, I keep my gift cards in it, so I'm concerned. I've never had a problem with ottone, but this armatura has a different feel to it. Plus I'm waiting on a copper rame that may be the same way. I was told by my SA that they can refinish these bags..she has a copper rame that might be returned and she said the problem could most likely be taken care of. Anyone else know?

^^ Was worried about that, the ottone if peels, doesn't look like it would be as noticeable but the Armatura does. Please let us know what you find out.

Hi did you just get this veneta? Is this one of the colors from the fall winter collection? Also which store did you order the bag from? I'm very interested in the silver armatura and is where did the ottone come from?
thanks |

I'm told this original Armatura color has been around for 4 years. It is a color for Japan and in the US is only available in Hawaii. I had it sent from there. The Ottone was a SO I did in January.
