Default Return of the Pyramid
Has anyone noticed that BV brought back the original Pyramid bag? Well, more like a new improved version that would be good news to OP fans out there.

Comparison: (re-issued vs. new Pyramid)

1. Shoulder strap: RP is not woven, longer and adjustable. NP is woven on top & not adjustable.
2. Rings: RP has woven rings like the Sloane (LOVE THIS!). NP has brass rings.
3. Size: RP is a tad taller. NP is a bit wider. Dimensions for BV site below.
4. Price: HUGE difference... RP $1580, NP$2250

RP = 11.3 x 11.7 x 7
NP = 12.5 x 10.5 x 6.6

I still like my new Pyramid but has anyone seen the re-issued Pyramid IRL?

First they made a 3rd version of the Ball... now the Pyramid (re-issued). I wonder what retro bag they will be reinventing next.

TDL, I noticed that too. Thanks for the great comparison. Mine is the NP but the RP looks interesting esp. the adjustable shoulder strap.

I like the RP a lot! I like that it's taller, I like the adjustable strap, the rings, and I definitely like the price better. Is it nappa umbria?

Fantastic observation, TDL! I saw it online too but didn't look into details. I'll definitely ask about it tomorrow at the boutique! I'd love one if it comes in those nappa umbria colours like the dark truffle or the gladiola!

This thread is wonderful! Thanks for the research. I'm going to copy this into the reference library under the styles section.

Maybe the Veneta - they should make it a rounder and call it "Belly veneta"
Thank you TDL - your input is always very valuable
What other bags are considered retro? Sloane? Campana?
it would be interesting to know when BV 1st introduced each of the icon handbags and what changes they made to each

The woven rings really appeals to me!

I think that the veneta has been modified every year/season - and that has become a tradition. I love the different and special versions!

I was under the impression that the Belly veneta is a new style unlike the Tornabuoni, Rivet or pleated veneta - Thanks Baggiana

Is the adjustable strap of RP long enough so that it allows you to wear cross body [i.e. making it a messenger bag] ? I also love the weaved ring of RP and the price !

And of course I had to ask about the original pyramid at the 5th ave boutique today.

Apparently they have been making this style quietly behind all the other newer icon bags. I played with the nero one a bit (they had the ebano too). The strap can be worn in two different lengths, either short for hand carry or long for shoulder carry. I'm 161cm and US size 4-6, and was able to cross-body carry it with a shearling jacket on (though a bit snug). It has a sporty feel, is very streamlined, and quite different from the new pyramid. Very nice bag indeed.
