Default Quick First Reveal on TPF!
Hi

I am relatively new to the BV forum on TPF. This is my first time doing a reveal on this particular forum although I've been using various BV items for quite awhile...

I have always wanted an item made out of exotic. So finally, while passing through HK enroute to China, I passed by BV in Elements and made an impulse purchase.

Can you guess what it is?

introducing my new matte brown croc wallet! i am sorry that i don't know the exact name since the receipt didn't say what it is except it is SLG! i am absolutely in love with the matte texture as well as the beautiful brown color.

it is a longer version of the standard wallet with the built in coin pocket. after using a standard wallet with a separate coin pouch, i find myself always forgetting my coins and having to accumulate more and more coins!

i also have to say that due to the leather used in BV, i have to go through 3 different wallets in order to find one that is unblemished and perfect! the Elements store actually had to transfer one while I wait on the spot (20 min wait) from another HK store. all in all, as always, i was very impressed with the service received in BV!

on a separate note, does anyone know where BV gets its croc? one of the "silly" excuse that BV SA gave me regarding blemishes on the croc wallet was that crocs used for BV (as opposed to H) were wild crocs and hence, it is difficult to get a blemish free croc item from BV. is that true?

beautiful wallet! what is the weave i see behind the wallet?

i don't know whether the crocs are wild or farmed, i do believe that BV vegetable dyes and has a particular treatment for its leathers and exotics that allows the natural coloring and variation to be preserved and accented. this means there will always be slight variation that enhances the overall look. i know some people don't like that, personally i think NO ONE, not even H, handles exotics as well as BV.

there are others with more extensive knowledge and perhaps they will weigh in

excessbaggage, annelovepuggy, Sammyjoe, kroquet, annie9999, LT bag lady, doloresmia and BagEssence, thanks for the compliments, everyone.

just a quick question, i assume that BV exotics like any other brands should be handled with care, particularly when it comes to water (rain and etc). any other thing i should note? should i pre-treat it with something to protect it?

the SA did show me an "older" display model which has been handled quite frequently and has acquired a beautiful patina (almost going from completely matte (almost like gris elephant in H speak!) like I have now to a more slightly glossy look) so i am looking forward to seeing my wallet evolves as time goes on!

doloresmia, the bag behind the wallet is my ebano laptop bag which has pretty much gone around the world with me for quite a few times!

What a handsome wallet! Very classy. If BV's exotic leathers are similar to Nappa, the "feel" will improve with age.

Congratulations!
