Hi, I'm new to BV (I'm usually over in Hermes) though I have lurked around here admiring pictures and trying to gather information.

Yesterday I tried on this bag in a gorgeous dark, dark brown and LOVED it:

I can't find a name for this style.

I don't live near a BV boutique, just Neiman Marcus, and had a couple of questions . . . is this a style that will always be available, or would it be discontinued (I saw there is one on BlueFly in a lighter brown, and this style is not on the BV web site).

Also--would this style and color combination ever go on sale? I think I've read here that the blacks and browns rarely go on sale, that usually it is just seasonal colors, but I wanted to check before I spring for the bag (would hate to find it 30% off after I bought it full price!)

And, do the BV stores ship?

tangle, I have that style in Noce and got it from BlueFly. I believe that style in azzardo green was exclusive to NM. Braided handle tote is the only name that I'm aware of and I know it wasn't part of the recent sale. Yes BV ships.

I think it's just called a deerskin hobo with braided shoulder strap. I have seen this style on sale before in the dark colours that you mentioned, I'm not sure that it is still being produced though. The BV sale has already started in the US so I'm sure that if you inquired at your local boutique they could give you more info on the sale styles. Of course BV stores do ship.

This style has been produced for a couple of years now, so it's hard to predict if it will continue. Currently, it's in black, Noce, and white, I believe. There may be some seasonal colors still hanging around some places. I have one from the first season in Poudre(a pinky blush color). I've never seen this style on official sale, but maybe others have. I like the green a lot.

Yes, BV stores ship.

Thank you, Syma! It was not on sale at NM, but I could call a boutique to ask now that I know they will ship.

Would it possibly be on sale at a boutique but not at NM?

The link from the purseblog article to the green version had a sale price at Saks (and it was sold out), so I guess the green went on sale. I thought that green was beautiful also!

There is a similar one on Overstock right now in a kind of a pinky, purple color. I think it's around $1900 there.

I think that's the one Cosmopolitan has and jburgh is seeking for, no? and it went down quite a bit at NM or BG site if my memory serves me right. The braded handle alone is worth drooling imo!!

The one on Overstock is more expensive because of more woven leather. size may be larger too, I don't know. I paid $1400+ for mine in BV a couple years ago.

Mid- That's what I loved--that braided strap! And also the smooshy soft leather.

boxermom, it does look like the one on Overstock is bigger. I like that one too.

The one on Overstock is huge in comparison and styled differently. It has more woven detail plus the contrasting piping. Tangle, I love my noce one. The deerskin is so slouchy and it's comfortable on the shoulder and easy to carry in hand too.
