As you've probably read by now, I have returned the medium Aurora Veneta and am planning on exchanging for a medium black Campana. I just want to be sure I am making the right decision here so I need to know, does the medium Campana appear smaller IRL than the medium Veneta? Based on the dimensions online, the Campana (12x5x8) should be smaller than the medium Veneta (16x17) but I know sometimes the tendency of the bag to slouch with time affects the overall appearance size-wise. My only concern is do you think the Campana will look too bulky on me? I notice it is 5" in depth unlike the Veneta which is so slim. I still have time to change my mind (my second choice is a black veneta) as the return won't be processed till they receive my bag. For reference, I'm attaching a picture of me with the medium Veneta. Hope you ladies will be able to help.

I have a medium and a large campana, I had a medium veneta but I sold it. I don't think the campana looks smaller than the veneta at all, the measurements of the veneta are a bit confusing because they include the top of the handle. Pros and cons of both are that the medium veneta feels a bit tighter on the shoulder especially with a winter coat, the medium campana has 2 straps and the outer strap does have a tendency to slip off the shoulder unless you tuck it under the inner strap. I don't know if this would bother you???

I would vote for you to exchange for the large veneta as this is my favorite style.
I find the medium veneta too small and hard to wear with winter coat. I like the medium campana too but it does look a bit more bulky than the veneta and doesn't zip on top. It is a very ladylike style though.

i love both styles, both in the medium sizes more than the large sizes. then to narrow it down some more, i like the veneta more than the campana. i don't dislike the campana, i think it's cute, but i didn't like the way the handle kept slipping off my shoulder and revealing all my stuff, which made it more apt to have things fall out.

Hmm, now I'm doubting my first choice. I hate straps that fall off but some of you mentioned that tucking it in helps. I still have up to Thursday to decide. Thanks ladies! Oh, and please keep the opinions coming.

ok, here are my impressions of the Campana after one day
mostly love, I like the distance below the arm, I like the look when it slouches, I like the little clip I can hook my keys on, the weight is fabulous it seems to hold a lot, but I don't think I would load it up, I had 2 glasses cases inside and it did feel a little bulky under the arm. Once it was rearranged it was fine. I didn't have any problems with the 2 straps, but I like it hand-held too, so I alternated I definitely would like a large black Veneta someday too, I think that they are different enough to have both! |

I am sorry, but I have no experience with the medium Venetas or Campanas but I do own a large Veneta and a large Campana. I think the dimensions of alot of the BV bags are deceiving because when worn they are nice and slouchy and the size seems smaller than the listed size. I love the Campana and the look of the double shoulder straps. I do find it to be a comfortable bag even though the strap needs adjusting now and then, but the Veneta is even more comfortable because of the single shoulder strap. My fault with the Veneta is the zipper. I much prefer the magnetic closures of the Campana and Sloane. If the medium veneta works for you and you want a different style, I think the medium Campana is a wonderful choice. I, like alisonanna, would also like a nero Veneta one day even though I own a Nero Campana, so....if you are totally sold on the Veneta two is not too many IMO.

I've never tried a bag with magnetic closure. I'm sure I won't be stuffing the Campana as I carry only a few items in my bag everyday. Right now, I am leaning towards the Campana. It would be nice to own two different styles, I guess.

This is a good thread.
Which one looks larger in use, the large Campana or the large Veneta? Suppose only essential things are in the bag. |

I vote for the campana so that you have two very different yet lovely bags to choose from. The campana has a generous drop so even if you load it up, the bulk wouldn't get in the way. And it's easier than the veneta to get in and out of.
For even more variety, perhaps you could buy a campana in a diff colour since you already have a nero veneta? |

Personally, I like the look of the Veneta more than that of the Campana.

I am now so confused. AFter checking out the modeling pics of the Campana here, I am not sure I will like it on me. What attracted me to BV in the first place is the slimness of the Veneta bag. But I'm not sure if I should buy another Veneta if it will be in a classic color. I really wanted a light colored spring bag. I thought I was fine with all this but now I'm back to my uncertainty. I might end up with nothing at all

Brandless, I think you'd be happy with the campana. It's wider than the veneta but if you don't carry a lot of stuff it'll lay fairly close to your body. If slimness appeals to you, have you looked at the Julie? It's virtually flat like the veneta. It's a smooth leather with a braided handle and center horizontal zipper...the BV site has the blue on sale and BlueFly has the noce and blush. It comes in two sizes...large and oversized. The large measures appoximately 14x14 but being flat it does not look like a large bag. Also, considering that you returned the aurora because you were concerned about a light bag getting too dirty have you thought about Noce? It's a great go with everything color that you can wear all year long but light enough to be a great summer color yet dark enough to not show soil as quickly.

LLAneedle, thanks for your thoughts on this. After much deliberation and reviewing almost all of the previous posts in this subforum, I have decided to go with another Veneta but this time in Lotus Pink. I know it is also light colored by I have done pink bags in the past and was fine with it. What I've realized is I've always ended up returning or selling my past white, off white or beige bags. The Aurora was on the creamy side and I guess that scared me.
Ladies, you must think I'm crazy for doing this. I really appreciate your helping me out with this "bag dilemma" of mine. |
