Does anyone own this bag?
If you don't own it, have you seen it?
This is the same bag that Selma Hayek was recently photographed with

I recently saw this bag & fell in love with it. The leather is incredible! But it was pricey - $3K! I put it back on the rack but couldn't get it out of my mind! I looked it up on the BV website & discovered that it was a $5700 bag! So I called the store the next day to ask if they still had it. They said it as gone - there was no bag that fit the description. My heart sank! I still couldn't get it out of my head, so I went back. And guess what? It was still there!

Determined not to let it slip thru my fingers again, I put it on layaway! I have to sell a few bags before I can pay it off, but I think it will be well worth it! I can't wait to bring this beauty home!

I've been looking for the perfect BV bag & I think I finally found it!

From what I've read, this is made from deerskin. Can you give me your thoughts on this bag? Is this kind of leather durable? The bag is unlined (its only negative - no beautiful suede lining!) Does that pose any kind of problem, or will it wear as well as a bag that's lined?

Here are a few pics I took - I really am so excited! I kinda feel like I've joined the "big girls club" - my very 1st BV bag!

omg! what store is dumping current season BV bags at tjmaxx?!?

the leather is indeed deerskin (cervo). it doesn't have a "lining" but the leather is thick - it's almost like each strip is lined. there is also a zipped version - give a shout if you find one of those at a tjmaxx

i can't say much about durability of this specific material because it just came out this season; no one's had it for very long yet. however, having looked over this bag closely, i suspect you won't be disappointed.

I officially hate my TJ Maxx.

They never have anything even remotely this wonderful, recently a SA tried to convince me that electroplated silver was the same thing as sterling silver, the exact same thing.

Enjoy your wonderful find, I might give my TJ a visit this weekend just to see if things have improved.

AACCKK --I just noticed the Prada bag in the background! I double hate my TJ Maxx now.

Great find!

I am not personally acquainted with this bag, but I will simply state that obvious that it is a very light-colored bag, and so it will show color transfer from dark fabrics and the like(such as dark denim, specifically), as well as everyday soiling from being used. You might have a high tolerance for that issue, and you might not think of it as being at all related to your question of "durability," but because we do get a lot of questions about light colors here, I thought I should mention it. Stated another way, just because it's an expensive and high-end bag doesn't mean that it's less prone to the usual issues that all light-colored leather bags have.

iluvmybags,

Looks like a beautiful bag, but I would be wary of the light color.

What happened to the Nero fringed bag you also found at TJ Maxx? Thought that was a keeper for you.

What a great find. Do you mind sharing the price? Did you find this at a TJ Maxx "Runway" store? A new TJMaxx / Home Goods just opened near me in Cupertino. I was hoping they would add a Runway department. I'm disappointed that they did not.

Thank you for your input & comments!
I know that it's a lighter color bag, but as you can see compared to the white Tshirt I'm wearing, it's not a true shade of white - its almost like a pale taupe or grey. I'm not that worried about getting it dirty or color transfer - I never wear jeans anyhow, and I've never had any problems with any of my other bags, no matter the color, so I don't see why this one would be any different. I'm pretty careful with my bags & take good care of them!

I ended up not getting the black fringed hobo. I really liked the bag, but I just wasn't that crazy about the fringe on the handle. I also just bought the Tom Ford Flap Over Hobo in black, and as I think I may have mentioned, I rarely choose black bags, so since I just got one, I really didn't want another large black hobo. I'm glad I did, cuz THIS is the BV bag I've been waiting for! It's everything I could want - a nice size, soft, amazing woven leather, straps that fit over the shoulder, NOT black! This is definitely a bag I can see myself using forever and never tire of!

@mousse - I did find this at a Runway store (they had two other BV bags in addition to this one!), but it's like I said before, a lot of designer bags are showing up at non-runway stores as well as Marshall's, so don't give up hope! If you keep up with that thread in the General Shopping forum, you'll be able to tell when the stores get a shipment - just this past week, there were several reports of better designer bags at TJMaxx - both runway & non-runway - as well as Marshall's! The two TJMaxx stores within driving distance of me (both Runway) received a whole lotta bags this week - I found (& bought!) a Celine bag in addition to this BV! There were also several Givenchy, Fendi, Balenciaga, Prada, YSL bags - I even saw a pair of Lounoutins, which I've never seen at TJs before (I recently bought a pair of Jimmy Choos too!)
