I have the opportunity to get the Sloane in either ottone (the gold-bronze, needs no introduction!) or scala (a very intriguing blend of deep purple, brown, rose, burgundy…) – such dissimilar colors, but each with their own charm! Quite at a loss…
Does anyone own both ottone and scala bags? Or have drooled over both? How do you feel about them? Which color is better in terms of versatility, wearability, etc.? Any comments will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

I think ottone is more versatile and wearable since it would go with everything. Are you planning to get it special ordered?

^^I was quoted $3610 for the Sloane in Ottone. She said that was on the high end, but she quotes high until it has come back approved. I am still not 100% sure if I'll get the Sloane. I just don't know yet.
If I could only get one, I personally would get the Ottone. I think it will go with more (at least in my wardrobe). If I could get a second one, I would love to have the Scala. It is beautiful. |

I have a scala pyramid and use at about as much as my ottone sloane which is infrequently. Scala looks great with browns and teals. My use of either bag depends on where I'm going and what I'm wearing. Ottone probably is more of a neutral and may go with more colors? Given a choice if I had to pick one I might pick ottone....but that scala is pretty too.

I haven't seen either IRL but have certainly drooled over pictures of both here... I was particularly taken with Scala after seeing alisonanna's pictures a while back. I certainly wouldn't mind a Montaigne in both colours! I think it depends on what you where and what you are looking for - very interesting to hear from LLANeedle who has both, though.

Which color would you use more often? I would prob. use the Scala more and save Ottone for special events, but others use their Ottone bags regularly.

I love the scala - it's a great neutral, sensible color
I have to say that it doesn't get much attention from others, but I love that about it. I think ottone is much more of a wow color. |

Thanks everyone! Well, I went ahead and got the Ottone (second hand, but unused!). Waiting breathlessly for it to reach my greedy little hands~~
I love the scala as well, it's just after some thinking, I know I feel PASSION for the ottone! If the sloane shape really works out for me, I think I'll be back for the scala around christmas (if it's still there)

passion is exactly what I felt when I saw an ottone sloane in real life. I seriously spent an hour in the boutique just not wanting to put her down.
eventually the practical side of me prevailed, I didn't get it. but MAN it's a beautiful bag, you're going to love every minute of using it. (off I go to look for scala threads, never heard of this color...) |
