Default Ottone fever!!
guess what i've just bought.......... an Ottone Sloane!

this is my first TPF-induced purchase! i started wanting it only after seeing various Ottone Sloanes in this forum. it wasn't on my radar previously as i'd tried the Ferro Sloane before and the style just looked wrong on me.

when i dutifully trooped over to BV to check it out in real life, unfortunately, it seemed that Hong Kong was all sold out of the Ottone Sloanes. (there weren't that many to begin with, as this colour is carried in very limited numbers) but my SA put me on the "want" list, and said she would let me know, but chances not high.

Oh me of little faith......... wanting to buy something before the HK price increases, i bought a Large Veneta in ebano. figured that the classic colour/style hardly ever goes on sale, so the price will keep increasing.

To my surprise, I received a call last week ........ that the BV store tracked down ONE more ottone sloane for Hong Kong's 4 boutiques, and it was headed to Landmark just for me!

upon seeing it in real life, I had to acknowledge the reasons why i shouldn't buy it:
- the sloane is larger than i'm used to in bags. even larger than the large Veneta, due to its width and construction style
- i just bought a large veneta and really should let my credit card rest
- it's in the same colour family as my other bottegas
- i should put this money towards my next desire of the Hermes Lindy bag

but..... the ottone leather was just so amazing. and with one look at the bag, you know that SO much handwork went into the bag. (nothing mass produced from BV, it's just not possible) for the treatment of the leather, than the weaving...

and now, it is home with me.....

pics to follow soon......

thanks for listening.......

and here are the pics!

i included a pic where i'm trying to hold up the bag. it looks much better carried than just sitting there, because of how it falls nicely against the body.

(Tech qn: how do i paste the photos into the body of my post, so that i can add captions like "with flash", "without flash")

Beautiful. Don't think one will ever regret getting an Ottone.
Actually I'm surprised that bags in Ottone are popping up here and there as I thought this is a seasonal colour... then again, we are not complaining as it's really a gorgeous colour.

Congratz, mrsDIY88!

seems that there are some questions on style/size comparisons.

so here's a pic of my BV trio for comparison.

Medium Camel Campana
Large Ebano Veneta
Ottone Sloane

From the side, the camel almost looks as large as the sloane, but i think it's just cos of the angle. the "top-down" shot shows the relative sizes and length. And in the final group shot, you can barely see the med campana peeking out from behind the large veneta.

Pics finally!! Congrats again my dear, no regrets. So gorgeous, the bag and the view from your home. Your pool has a stunning view too, wow!

*Re attaching pics : after uploading, click on the same icon ("paper clip") and you'd see the word "attach pics", just click on it and the photos would appear as mini pics in the body of your post.*
