Wow, that is so wrong!
Hope you get it all straightened out.
Sounds like you got excellent service, ordered yesterday - received today! - my orders always take a week!
Keep us posted on any updates on the "real" BV purchase.

I'm sorry to hear that.
Though I'm sure Saks will work it out for you.
Can't believe it tho.

FYI, the fake copper RAME has been around for years!
I've seen them here in Bangkok over 2 years ago : )
Isn't that funny?

wt80014 hope you get the 'Real Ball Bag' in ebano soon!!

Cheers,
LT - This is great news to hear. Sometimes you wonder where the ball (no pun intended) was dropped. Regardless of the reason, I am glad the stores are addressing the issue.

I didn't know they had been out that long. Isn't this color new for 2008?

I would also hope that Saks and other fine retailers would have records of who purchased what and who returned what... hopefully they could then press criminal charges against these... well, criminals!

^^Yes, I really hope they can track the person down!! LT - I'm happy to hear Saks caught their store thief! This incident will make me leary of ordering again. (Of course, after I receive the REAL ball.)

A good friend of mine is an SA w/ Chanel at Saks, and people try this more than you would imagine to return a fake bag and try to get their money back. Chanel has been to Saks store across the nation, to continue education w/ the SA's on their merchandise.

The problem is getting bigger.

Yes, counterfeiting and scamming are an ever increasing problem! Glad to know that Saks and NM are training their SA's to recognize the problem and the authentic bags. If they will catch and prosecute some of the scammers that will reduce the amount of counterfeit substitution-returns that they get.

It's reallllly messed up! How do they feel good about wearing a stole item:(
I'm glad you noticed!
That is crazy!!! Good thing you noticed... I should keep that possibility in mind from now on.

I've heard of this happening not only from the department stores' internet sites but also in the actual department stores. I wish they would implement a security tag system much like BlueFly's.

What a disappointing experience! Saks will make it right, I'm sure.

If the fakers would as hard at a real job instead of trying to cheat people, they would make enough money, but there will always be those who try to scam others. So sad and unfortunate. Thank goodness you knew enough about BV to tell it was fake.

Good luck getting a quick resolution.

Wow, this is interesting. A while ago, I posted a message on the PF saying that I had a similar experience at Saks. I was walking through the bag department with another forum member, and we saw a Balenciaga sitting on the counter. This particular Saks doesn't carry Balenciaga so we were pretty intrigued. The bag was a clear fake, so we called over an SA and talked to her about it. She wasn't terribly familiar with Bal, so it took a LONG time to convince her we weren't loony. She did finally believe us and pulled the bag.

So sorry this happened to you. Guess it's a pretty common scam.
