Oooh... Thanks so much for all your help PorscheGirl! Your oldest Cabat is 5 years old now. Is it still holding up as good as when you got it? I imagine it must be broken in so beautifully by now!

I guess that solves the mystery, Baggiana! The Cabat in question was a medium, twin to what PorscheGirl has.

It seems that only for the year of 2005 did BV state the season/ year on the gold tag for their Cabats. And maybe 2006 too. Any 2006 Cabat owners here?

Nymph,

My oldest cabat is from the first season that BV made cabats! It is very special to me. It IS wonderfully broken in. I've had it cleaned once by BV, and Sonia, my SA, couldn't believe it was 5 years old. It has held up SO WELL!

As to your other question, I have a medium ottone cabat purchased 4/07, and it does not say the season on the brass plate. It says:

A 079/500

Glad you are getting the info you wanted!

^ I'm sure you know this by now, but you have excellent taste to pick out such an understated yet super luxe bag when it was first introduced!

That cabat was my introduction to BV, my very first! It was love at first sight. I was on vacation on Maui and purchased it at the shop at Wailea.

I don't sure, but the seller said this bag is 6 months-old and was bought from Neiman Marcus, Chicago.
I think it maybe spring,2008.

another question about the color code in the tag: it should be from nero to 1000, I check the another member's article #11

mine is VENEZIANO MEDIUM CAPRI CABAT purchased in May 08, the following is printed on the gold plate:

BOTTEGA VENETA
Made In Italy
Limited Edition
Lavorazione Fatta A Mano
324/500

and on the white tag "115664 VFEH1 8460"

for the PLATINO OSSIDATO MEDIUM BARCELONA CABAT purchased in June 08:
BOTTEGA VENETA
Made In Italy
Limited Edition
Lavorazione Fatta A Mano
497/500

white tag states "115664 VGBE1 2024"

Really, the final 4 number on the tag must be 0 to 1000?

thank you.

The last 4 numbers on the white tag indicate the color code. Nero is 1000, but the codes do go above 1000 for other colors.

From looking at the plates on several cabats, I've deduced that the first 4 numbers are a code for the year, and the roman numeral is a code for the season. The last number is the limited edition number, so 395 would be the 395th cabat out of 500 made that season.

Hope this helps!

I followed the link. I'm confused. Did you pay $171.50 for the cabat?

No, I did not bid this one. This $171.50 cabat was one of my watching items in eBay.

after you seen these cabats, what comment you have?
Could you contact your SA in BV for these issues?thank you.

p/s
I found the authentic tag inside the cluth, and nothing under the bottom of cabat.
As I know, most authentic tag should be found out at right hand side on the bottom inside the cabat .

Ciea,

I have a new cabat, just purchased in June, which I special ordered in February. I don't know if i's because it was a SO, or if they are doing it that way now, but the authenticity tag on this one is inside the pouch.

New medium cabats are selling for over $4000, so if you see anything on eBay for under $2000, I'm not sure it's authentic. Just my opinion, of course.

I showed one of my older cabats to my SA, and she did not know how to interpret the 4 digit number beginning with 7 on the plate. And I've bought all my cabats at the BV store. But the next time I'm there, I will take it in and ask her to email BV for an answer.

Thank you very much.

Yesterday, I contacted BV online personal shopper for the meaning about the limited number "7349 I 395"

and his reply is below:
In regards to the number, this represents the item number and total units produced specific to the bag.

This answer does not solve the doubt. I still don't know whether the number is unique for a specific one cabat or not.
