Default Old petra flap top satchel
I feel bad that I have been ignoring this bag, which I got from BlueFly back in March - at least for the purposes of it having its debut here. I have carried it a lot (and a lot more than I thought I would) - it is an awesome colour for spring (or at least what has passed for spring here in Vancouver this year - I've only been caught with it in the rain once, luckily!).

The colour is particularly difficult to capture, which I guess isn't surprising because it really does look different in every light IRL as well. I tried various options - flash with artificial light, no flash with natural light, flash with natural light, and flash with sunlight. Really it is all of these colours - and more!

The color is called Old Petra and I think it is an S/S 2007 color.

Yes, it is old petra and it was a S/S 07 colour... before I discovered BV. I kept hearing about how wonderful it was (which is true now that I have seen it IRL), and then months later it suddenly dawned on me that this bag I had been eyeing on BlueFly forever was in fact that colour! Old petra items do still pop up on eBay every once in a while, and there is this one lonely little bag still on BlueFly... I feel sorry for it since no one seems to want it! I'm not sure if the outlets have any old petra - someone mentioned recently that seasonal colours "go away" for a while before hitting the outlets so maybe the old petra pieces will show up there some day soon!

BookerMoose, thanks for taking the effort in the pics.
I too have an Old Petra (Roma) and till this day (14months) I still can't really figure out the exact colour. Sometimes, it's a muted brown, sometimes it's dusky pink.... it's really a mysterious colour!
We love our Old Petra, don't we, BookerMoose!

Bookermoose, how does the top close? Does it just flap over or is there a magnet? Is it strictly a hand carried bag? It is lovely. Scala is another BV color that's hard to describe. It too changes color depending on the light and what it's next to.

I agree on the Old Petra Roma...a mysterious little bag with lots of "color" mood changes.

Thanks everyone! And to answer LLANeedle's question, it flaps over with a magnet, which is a great combo of security and convenience for getting in and out. And the handles are a bit shorter than the Montaigne's or maybe it is just because they are attached far apart, but either way it doesn't really go over the shoulder well, even in a pinch, so I only use it as a hand carried bag. I do prefer the Montaigne style (that probably doesn't surprise anyone!) but love this for a bit of a change every once in a while!

I like how the colour "changes". Makes it all that more special. Like it has its own little mood swings on a daily basis
