MarvelGirl - I bought 4 cabats sight unseen
And I asked them to remove my name from the waiting list for other cabats again sight unseen.
I personally rely on other tPFers who are always very helpful and the description is always accurate
That being said, of course it is much better if you have the option to return it if you don't like it

It costs £4715 in the UK for a tie dye Med Cabat - only a few hundred pounds away from a birkin It is well worth you getting it from the UK - due to the exchange rate, ask for Richard at Bond Street.

I got to run through the SS Trunk show in BH today.....

ReRe, MarvelGirl - if you end up with the burnt marshmellow bag, you will NOT regret it. i repeat, you will NOT regret it. i played with the large, which did not feel large because the sides folded in so nicely. i was totally in love. the colors are amazing, the feel is wonderful. it is slightly heavier than a regular nappa cabat, but not extraordinarily so. the SA i spoke with confirmed MarvelGirl's post as well about there will be 500 of the burnt marshmellow in circulation.

also played with the croc structured bags that are H kelly like. these are great, classic bags. also comes in white and delft (which is turquoise blue). it is an elegant and practical bag at the same time. great size, not too big. amazing woven leather details at the top. for anyone who likes the look of a kelly, but hates fiddling with the straps, it is a wonderful design as you can still wear the bag on your arm and open it with one hand.

the marshmellow fluff bag (all white) is soft nappa - mid- said she loved this one. i would be very worried about dye transfer. it is beautiful though.

loved the Paille tote = for me though it is a not deep hand bag and so would be concerned about security. you would want to put your things inside the dust bag in the tote. however, great east west shap and size. like the burnt marshmellow, the padded leather makes is scrumptious!

played with the large paille cabat - this is a different treated leather as graycat5 and as others have pointed out makes the sound of straw. it sounds just like a straw bag, not irritating at all. it is such a soft, pretty color.

yummy wedge shoes in exotics - sky high of course

i loved the shapes of the SS RTW

Ouch! That isn't very generous! I can understand the 10 days, but store credit only? That's too bad!

ETA Thanks for your lovely descriptions doloresmia!

Thanks so much for the status report as I totally trust your opinion. Knowing that the burnt marshmallow has received your stamp of approval makes me feel a lot better. Also, good to know that the SAs are still saying that there will be 500 in circulation. Maybe that means ReRE and I will be able to view on consignment without terrible fear of it selling out. I think I am still going to be nervous about availability until I have one in hand though. Thanks again!

OMG, Juda! You purchased 4 cabats without seeing them first?! You are one ballsy gal, for sure. I don't think I can do it with one let alone four! Wow, you are a gamblin woman! And you never regretted any of them? You love them all? I am glad that you had them remove your name from the list for others sight unseen. These bags cost too much money to continue doing it that way.

And yes, the ladies and gents here are fabs in terms of descriptions and giving the best lowdown on BV product. I never fear when you guys are on it. But I agree, it is better to have the option to return. But when that is not available, tPF is a great help and comfort. Thanks Juda for chiming in!

That is around CHF 8,000. I am going to have to call my SA to make up my mind.

Thank you Sammyjoe

I think it is probably obvious but have to ask, did they have a medium as well and did you get to play with it too ?

I don't regret buying any and if it wasn't for uclaboi, jburgh, and ssc I wouldn't have bought the Tea Rame cabat and would have missed on a gorgeous cabat
I only asked them to remove my name from the list -again based on tPF members input and a picture sent by a lovely tpfer - that's when I realized that I prefer structure in a cabat and I opted not to wait for Cabats in regular Nappa.

Your decision should be easier since you already own a cabat and you know that medium works for you. So at least you have specific questions and you compare to what you like and dislike about your gorgeous PO.
Since you like it, uclaboi and dolersmia already gave their seal of approval, if i were you i would order it sight unseen

doloresmia - Thank you for the description. What are your impressions about the Paille cabat other than - thankfully - the noise is not irritating.

The tie-dye Cabat reminds me of Indian corn
D- as per your description the sides folded in nicely - so it is floppy but not as floppy as the Nappa Cabat? or as per uclaboi description the difference between the two is that it doesn't collapse like the nappa does?
which one is the H kelly lookalike ?

Juda- when i saw the tie dye it seemed very soft and floppy. it is denser than nappa because the strips are finished differently so that they are almost tubular. i would not have considered it more structured than nappa. hth.

Juda - your indian corn pictures are perfect and like annie said, the bag is a bit more structured than regular nappa. i don't see it flopping as much, but the sides would stay folded in which they don't for my chevre cabat. however, it isn't a structured bag the way the tea rame would be.

i really like the paille cabat, but am very drawn to light colored bags. this is a perfect bag for SS IMO. this one has a lot of structure - i would imagine along the lines of the patent cabats. the leather treatment gives it a little texture so it looks like it might be straw as well. it does not feel is soft like a nappa bag... again the leather is coated so it feels more like the patent. my concern, as always with any light bag, is dye transfer.

nicaddict - they only had a large.

did i mention i played with the pineapple bag? it is a great sized hand held bucket bag. the pineapple skin part is very soft. super super cute. the pix don't do it justice.
