I've noticed that some bags have quietly increased in price this season.

I was at Saks this afternoon and spoke with the BV associate (who is awesome, btw!) and she quoted me about $2300 for the Bella (same measurements and leather as the website) so the price hasn't trickled down to the stores if it's accurate.

Seems possible it could be an error.

Surely that's the case. I can see it going up a several hundred dollars from one season to the next, but not a 50% increase with no difference in the bag.

She has a name now, maybe that was reason enough for a price increase...

Has anyone bought anything in Dark Truffle? I was wondering if it looks like the pic on line with quite a bit of purple to it? Thanks!

I haven't bought anything, but I have seen it ITL (in the leather). I think it's a deep burgundy with eggplant tones.

Burgundy, not brown with eggplant undertones? I'm wondering if the eggplant undertones are obvious or not. I like how you really see the eggplant in the online pic. If it basically brown then it's not for me.

It may depend on the leather but IIRC it looked more burgundy with eggplant to me than brown.

Perhaps you need to come for a visit to see for yourself???

Dark Truffle - the photo online is 90% close but not quite. As doreenjoy pointed out, it looks like burgundy with some undertones (plum in my opinion). Eggplant to me looks more like Gladiola. The difference is eggplant has more violet while plum has more violet-red. When I say violet-red I don't mean that it looks like red. Just the way the gradients would vary on the color spectrum. Not sure if I'm making sense here. Also, I realize the shade of fruits & veg may vary by country but this is the closest I could use to describe it.

I've seen truffle and it wasnt a true brown as far as i can remember. I didnt pay much attention since i didnt like it, but it wasnt a gorgeous/special shade in my humble opinion ...

I had the Dark Truffle Pyramid, Truffle Cervo Hobo & Ebano Bella, all side by side at the boutique. The Dk Truffle has a good bit of purple in it, it was my favorite of the 3! The Truffle was softer than the Ebano, a touch of pink in it, Ebano you know.

Ebano is just about the most beautiful shade of brown..I love it.

On a side note: I am still impatiently waiting for my new large veneta in Crimson... where or where is the mailman?

I sure do know that feeling waiting for your bag. I hope it arrives soon and you love it to pieces!

I'm glad to hear you think Ebano is the prettiest shade of brown.
