woohooo, my kind of woman! I've been sleeping in for so many days now that there is no way I'll be asleep by midnight, but I'll definitely be in my pj's, curled up in bed with a book or my laptop. that's my way to celebrate

Dear goldenflower, I did remember your asking about it, I just forgot to address you when I responded, sorry. And really, it's a biggie for me but not for many others...

It was supposed to snow/sleet with 60mph gust so we cancelled our temple visit. It's mighty cold but not snowing any more, oh well. However, we went to Mitsuwa (waving to Mystiletto and annelovepuggy!) to get all the New Year's food for tomorrow, yum!!

I had so much fun with all of you here at the BV subforum this year, and am sure it will be even more fun in 2009. Thank you so much for being there!!

Happy New Year everyone!! Will be staying in watching movies. Still sick... blah blah. The highlight of my evening will be using my Neti-Pot! A customer of mine gave me a lovely bottle of French champagne and I don't want to waste it, so I guess I will save it for another night.

Mid - you removed the ticker! Can't wait for you to reveal something that must be so special to you!

Happy New Year everyone! We're going to be eating a seven course meal at a local restaurant with DH's cousin and his wife - it is nice that it is just down the street so we can check in on the hounds during the course of the evening, and we don't have to worry about driving home! But really I would probably have been happy staying home - my brother got us the first two seasons of CSI (the Las Vegas one) on DVD for Christmas and therefore ALL we have been doing for the past few days is watching episode after episode... and it is really hard to tear ourselves away from it (let's just watch ONE more episode... next thing we know it is 3:00 am!!!).

my mom just called me from the car, at 10:30pm she's on her way out, all dolled up and going to some fancy party involving lots of dancing, with my dad.

I feel like I'm in some twilight zone where my parents and I have switched roles

LOLOL!! Me, too. My 81-yr-old mom had a party tonight! I'm in PJs and robe, and have been since 7 p.m. jburgh, I definitely qualify as an "old fart".

kroquet - Hope you feel better soon! I can't think of a more fitting companion for ringing in the New Year than "Neti". Out with the ... um ... old!

mid- Without your counter, I've forgotten: How many more days now? I can't wait to find out what it is.

BookerMoose - SEVEN courses! Please tell us what you ate, because that meal sounds amazing! I hope there were at least 2 desserts. I tend to do what you did with TV shows on DVD. When I got the first season of 24, I watched 12 episodes straight (in one day!). I'm almost embarrassed to admit that.

True to my usual form, it's 10:31 and I'm off to bed. See you next year, and may 2009 bring health, happiness, and BVs in abundance for all!

We're just a few minutes away from midnight on the Left Coast over here. Got gussied up and went out for a nice dinner at a French Bistro then home by 10, into my pajamas and out in the garage collapsing boxes (from incoming bags ) and throwing away packing paper. I'm in a cleaning mood. Time to wind down and give my enabling husband a great big kiss!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody
