Bookermoose , Sounds like you could use a day off! Wouldn't it nice if you could just tell them "hey, it's not working for me today...I'm going home. I'll try again tomorrow".

I love Chick-Fil-A! None in my little town, but they are in Wilmington, 45 min.drive. The best fast food chicken sandwiches ever.

Booker, that sucks to be inside in a stuffy office when it's nice out. If it's the same tomorrow, maybe you can at least get out during lunch time?

OK, for the record, when I recommended invisalign I was joking!!

ssc0619, I didn't know NY doesn't have Chik Fil A, we have them here in Jersey! Come on down!! Oh, btw, is your daughter texting you or too busy having great time at champ?

BookerMoose, I think you need some BV fix to make your days brighter.

My daughter is having too good a time to text me except to say goodnight! This time I feel better though because I stayed in Cleveland which is just 40 minutes from her camp. Somehow being close by makes me feel better!

BV lovers, this was my 60th and believe me I'll take these memories to the nursing home with me. dd and hubby planned a surprise "slumber" party for me and my four best friends. A limo shuttled us off to downtown for dinner, a visit to a piano bar, a late night tour of the Baltimore harbor and then delivered us to a waterfront hotel for the night. Picture five grown ladies having a slumber party! We had so much fun. Brunch was the following morning and hubby and both dd's joined us. As if that wasn't enough of a surprise......last night was supposed to be a quiet dinner with hubby and dd's but when I arrived all of my dearest friends were there for a wonderful dinner. They had decorated the room and boy you should have seen the cake! I was truly overwhelmed. Thanks for letting me share.
HAPPY Birthday!!! Sorry I missed it! I was having a weekend in Napa Valley with 3 GF's I know for 26 years!!! What a blast it is to spend time with the 'girls'!!

I wondered if anyone else is bothered by the stomach fat banner at the top of the page. I know that TPF has to look for revenue sources, but imhothat just cheapens the site. I am so tired of looking at it, but it is hard to avoid. Even as I am typing this my eyes are drawn to it. UGH!

^^^ My thoughts exactly! I see enough stomach fat on myself, you know?

Oh what a great daughter! I understand that the distance makes a huge difference. The Chik Fil A must be making you feel much better also, no?

I am glad someone else agrees! I usually don't care anything about the banners, but this one I do. I actually posted a thread about it in the feedback area. Hope I don't get in trouble.

The Chick Fil A for sure and the fact that I am near a mall that has a Saks. Where I live in NY is in the middle of nowhere. There is very little shopping, and absolutely nothing like a NM or Saks!!

I'm going to the mall in a few minutes and will visit both Saks and
Chick Fil A one last time!!

Ha ha! I was just thinking how gross those ads are, so you're not the only one. There is NO way to avoid seeing it as it's always at the top of the page and I have to scroll down each and every time I go to a new page. I think they cheapen the site, too.

We don't have Chick Fil A here but everyone tells me how great their chicken is. I don't eat beef more than a couple times a year (if that) so if I get something at a fast-food restaurant it's usually chicken (or a veggie something or other). And most of the time the chicken is not very good, so I wish we had a Chick Fil A here! We just got a Sonic - not impressed.

BookerMoose - I hope today is a better day! I think we all have those "off" days and they do pass, but it can be hard to get through sometimes.

Funny I just went to the Feedback sub to see if anyone has posted about the ad.

Enjoy your shopping at Sak s, ssc!

The PF doesn't get to pick the individual ads that show up in the banner...it is a package deal. Please express your dismay in the feedback forum. Vlad has always been good at getting banner ads removed that people find objectionable...and there have been several in the past 2 years.

Apropos to nothing recently discussed here, but is anyone else a fan of the AMC show Mad Men? I am really enjoying it. I just finished season 2 and can't wait for season 3 to start in August! The series begins in 1960 and seeing the clothing, hairstyles, cars, home furnishings, etc. from that era brings back a lot of memories.

The DH and I are watching Season 1 at our friends home. We have seen about 9 episodes so far. It is really interesting to see the vintage styles. But I'm genuinely offended at the way women are treated. I was not yet a woman in the early 60s, and I don't remember the condescending treatment. Older members, or ones with moms who watch Mad Men...was this how it really was? If so, I would have really had a problem with being a woman at that time. I do remember my mom having the cocktail parties in our basement...which had a bar.
