Mid, glad you're OK. This is certainly a summer you'll remember.

Mid, any kind of accident is scary! I am glad that no one was really hurt!

And of course I am happy you got to see your son and know that he is indeed doing well. Hopefully, the time will go by quickly and he'll be home soon.

Mid-, I'm glad to hear that you are okay following your accident! And that the other driver and her children are, too. It's also great to hear that your visit with your son went well. Soon he will be home, with many great experiences behind him that will give him lasting memories. My favorite activity at camp was riflery. I was pretty good at it, too - I won the "Dead-Eye Dottie" award more than a few times. My least favorite activity at camp? Cleaning the latrines!

Mid-, you've had quite a time of it lately! Glad you are ok-I hope you have no lingering pain in your neck or back.

Even if I just go on my own, I'll be at Tyson's II (Galleria) Saturday, August 8 to do a little browsing in BV, Chanel, Ferragamo, etc. Ran it past my son and dil and they said after several days of being nanny, I deserve a day to myself! (the weird coincidence is that's the same day as the big Las Vegas TPF meet)

So, if any PF'ers in the noVA/DC/MD area would like to meet for lunch and a little shopping, we can set a time and place to meet.

To add^^^to the previous post, I posted in the General Discussion area for TPF get-togethers and 2 members already said they'd like to meet. Hopefully some BV people here can make it too.

Thanks so much, jburgh, BookerMoose, LLANeedle, ssc, goldenflower, and boxermom!

Luckily I don't have much pain, just some dull pain mainly on my left side and occasional spasm here and there. Funny, jburgh, I was told to only use ice packs for a couple of days, which I really didn't need anyway.

Indeed, I've been having heck of a time lately, and we are probably moving to a new house next month!

goldenflower, my son's camp has a riflery contest against a neighbouring girls' camp team every year, and apparently the boys never won for 20 something years. LOL!

boxermom, 8th Aug is my husband's b-day, I probably won't make it for the meet... Hope you have a wonderful meet up!!

What a great camp report, Mid-! I feel much the same way... today I drove my son to the college where he will be entering in the fall (like barely 6 weeks away!) for Freshman Orientation. He stays overnight; my husband goes tomorrow to pick him up. He is SO ready to be on his own... or so he thinks. (I wonder who is gonna remind him to STUDY, and SHAVE, and DO LAUNDRY!)
Sorry about the car accident. Thank God it was minor. Take it easy and do see your dr. if you continue to hurt.

Aw, I understand, Mid-. I was looking forward to meeting you, though. A few on the general meeting thread hope to make it Aug. 8.

blueiris, Baggiana, and beth, thanks for your healing wishes. I still feel dull and move even slower than normal, but I think I'm good.

beth, my colleague told me about when her daughter started the college the other day. She didn't really like the college life in the beginning, but within a couple of weeks she was completely comfortable, and said, "Mom, I don't want to go back home but can you take care of my laundry?"

boxermom, I really wanted to meet you this time. Hope the next opportunity comes around soon.

Oh, btw, our offer to the house we liked was accepted just now and we are moving next month! What a summer it is indeed!

Is anyone here on Twitter? I am completely not into the whole Myspace/Facebook put-your-whole-life-on-the-internet concept, but I am intrigued a bit by Twitter. I really have nothing interesting enough in my life to actually post about, but I do kind of like the immediacy by which you can "connect" with people you find interesting. I was just sniffing around and one thing I found was "BottegaSales" - which seems to post tweets with links to big markdowns at a number of sites - like the tweet yesterday about a Burnt Orange Campana that was available for $791.90 at Saks - sold out today, however - and linked to www.stylous.com, whatever that is. Just wondering if anyone else is Twitter-ing...

I signed up, but haven't logged on in quite awhile. I was bored while home recovering from my surgery. I might need to sign back in just for the sales!!

Mid - Congrats on the new home and I am so sorry about your accident. Take care and feel better!!

Congratulations on your house, Mid-! Much as I detest moving itself (packing and unpacking), it's still fun to move to a new place and make it your own.

Beth, my last child who will attend college started last fall. She had a bit of hard time adjusting, but my older boys did not at all. I hope your son (and you) have an easy adjustment!

BookerMoose, like you I'm not at all into Facebook or MySpace or anything like that, but I have to admit that sales on BV could be a reason to look into Twitter! For some reason, the word "tweets" just cracks me up.
