Default Newbie Venturing Into BV Needs Help
Hi Guys! Yes, I've wandered from the Prada and Hermes for something different. I looked through the reference libraries and came up with nothing. Can one of you BV junkies give me the proper name and color for this bag? I know it's not the carmine (or is it carmino?) red (I LOVE that shade of red), but in a pinch this certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Thanks!

Nice bag and welcome to BV! Not sure the colour but it looks like tomato soup - which I love! There were some different reds in the line-up before carmino last fall so hopefully someone here will know what this one is. And a lot of BVs don't actually have names - they seem to just be given purely descriptive names like perhaps for this one it could be "braided handle intreccacio (sp?) stripe tote" or something equally mundane!

I believe this red is called scala or pompeii. The style is simply deerskin hobo with woven panel.

PP, I own a somewhat-similar BV deerskin hobo, and I can tell you the deerskin BVs are extra-luscious and light as a feather.

^^^I've seen Boxermom's pink version of that style, so I know what you mean.

I LOVE this green!

Cosmo has GREAT taste in bags!

Hey E! WHAT are you doing in here?! LOL

I have this one, it is more of a shopper/tote.

Wow, lovely to see tPFers that I usually see in The Playgound!!

Hello Prada Pshyco, the red looks pompei to me in the pic, but BlueFly's pics are VERY tricky so I am not quite sure.

Hi maxter, your shopper is really gorgeous!! Could we have your action pics??

It looks like Pompei to me, Elaine. The deerskin is wonderfully soft and durable leather. A lot of BV bags don't have specific names--they just describe the style. Everyone here is probably sick of hearing me rave about the braided handles--I just love the comfort and substance of them.

That green tote will be perfect on St. Patrick's day, Cosmo!

I'm usually hanging out in Chanel or browsing thru LV. I have a few BV pieces. But I have to say I could live in Cosmo's closet anytime!!

Cosmo - is your Prada buckle bag green too? I can't remember but I vaguely think so. You must be Irish!

OK, you need to change your avatar to be Green Beer - at least just until St. Pat's day!!

I'm not sick of it b/c I totally agree! I think the braided handles MAKE the bag. I really love them.

Thank you maxter for the pics!! It looks very nice on you!! I wanted to see/try this shopper in green, but was told none came to the US...

I haven't been to the C side yet. Is it as dangerous as the Orange side?
