Default New Ombre Satchel... and Help/Advice Please!
Hello my dear friends,

So today I finally received the beige ombre satchel that I was looking for in a previous post I mentioned, when I posted the red version. The item the SA from Beverly Hills found was the last one in the company, and was shipped from the Michigan store. I've posted photos below of the bag. I love the bag, but I was a little disappointed because whoever packed the bag packed it in a box that was shorter than the bag itself, and thus there is a line of "wrinkles" in the bag that is bothering me. I know these don't come out, and it will be there for life. I don't know how to make of this. Would it bother you, too? Would you keep it?

I think the crease is somewhat noticeable...I would only keep it if I LOOOVVVEEEED the bag. That being said, if there's this huge crease on it, you might not love it as much anymore. If that's the case, you probably shouldn't keep it.

Man, too bad it got crammed into the box... And that's the last one left too...

Bunkie,
So sorry to hear that!
I have the same bag and I love it to death! Its a beauty.

Having said that, if it bothers you, then no point keeping it coz thats gonna nag at you all the time.

Thanks, kopibaby and stylefiend. The more I think about it, the more it makes me mad! There was NO padding in the box whatsoever!

its a real pity, especially since it was shipped from BV! you would think that they would pay more attention to the packaging given how "fragile" BV leather is....

have you decided yet?

I think if you love the shape and style of the bag, you should keep it. Don't worry too much about the wrinkle. It's leather and it will/might get wrinkled later with use anyways. But if it bothers you, you should return it. It's a beauty, though.

Thanks, uclaboi. I realize because it was the last one, I am stuck with it. I've attached another photo to show the box it was shipped in - I couldn't believe it was from BV because I expected a bigger box than a shoe box. kobibaby, like you said, it's disappointing coming from the boutique. Be careful when you order things sent from Bal Harbour!

They should have used a larger box and packed it better. I totally agree with you.

What kind of leather is this? Is it soft (nappa) or hard (vachette)? Look like vachette from the pics...

that box is definitely too small for the satchel! i can understand the frustration you must be feeling.

uclaboi may be right - the creases may not become so visible after using the bag for a while. unfortunately, i have not used mine long enough to share though.

if you really like it, keep it then. but once you have decided to keep it, then dont think about the creases anymore.

Aww...that's disappointing...I would give them a call or bring it to your SA to see if they could do anything to help, especially since it was from a boutique. Maybe they can offer you a deeper discount or return the bag if you are truly unhappy!

uclaboi - I thought it was nappa, but I didn't know there was another version of lamb. It's definitely lamb though. kopibaby - thanks for your words of consolation. I think I will keep it. foxie-pooh - Thank you. I've written an email to express my disappointment to Bal Harbour and attached photos of the crease and box. I really don't think that crease was ever supposed to be there, no matter how long I use it!

Bunkie - contrary to many, my advise is to keep the bag-do not forget that nothing is perfect (though it's hard to accept), this bag is a beauty, it has no defect like scratches/wear. For a while you'll keep on looking at the "wrinkles", as you know that they are there, but slowly you'll have other things on your mind, the wrinkles will fade/change, there's going to be other wrinkles too..
just make up your mind and then enjoy the bag, it's lovely

i got most of my BVs overseas, so I have to pack them in my carry on coming home. I don't remove the original stuffing and pack them as carefully as possible, but still I get light creases on my bags. They are noticeable when the leather is still new and stiffer, but after I've broken the bags in for a month or two, the creases are not so noticeable. i guess it helps that my bags are in dark color. creases are still there but no longer as pronounced as they soften with the rest of the bag.

i hope yours would work out the same way.

Bunkie, I'm sorry that it happened, especially with a package from BV. If the bag was on sale with a good price, and you think you will use often, then keeping is a good option. If you paid full price and end up letting it sit in the closet due to the crease, then return it. I'm sure there will be more bags that will catch your heart later on. However, it's a very beautiful bag, and being the last one......um.....really hard to decide.

Thank you for kind words, everyone. I think I will keep it and live with it - I'm sure like many of you say, the crease will be less noticeable... Thanks for your support.
