Default My fIrst BV.......
Hi ladies!

I am com-pletely new to BV, and returned from my hols about 2 weeks ago. At the airport I spotted BV, and thought I'd have a lttle peek, as I was curious, and I've never touched BV leather before. So, I was checking out the long wallets, as I've been on the hunt for a while......

They had some lovely colours, but spent ages in deciding, as they were all sooo beautiful. Anyway, the SA asked if we needed any assistance, opened up the drawer, and started showing me the wallets....I picked one up, and all I can say is OMG.......the leather is sooooooo sofffttttt, and even DH was impressed, he didn't even flinch over the price, BUT I DID!!

So, after much deliberating with the SA and my DH over style, functionality and colour I end up with a wallet in dark brown, 8cc slots with separate coin access, and it looks beautiful.

BUT, I have a few questions to ask, and hope no-one minds.....

1. I was just wondering whether it's supposed to come with a dust bag, as mine didn't and would like to get one for it.

2. What is the official name for this colour and style?

3. My wallet was S$1000.00 and not sure if that is more or less expensive than the UK/Europe.

4. How do you care for/treat the wallet? Is there a spa that can do this for me?

Sorry for the long post, and hope anyone can help!! Thank you!!

Welcome Tash1! I'm no BV expert having just acquired my first one this year, but I believe all BVs come with dust bags. Did you get yours in Singapore? If so, they're considerably more expensive here than in US or Europe, but I wouldn't feel bad about something I got on holiday:) I believe you can send the wallet back to any BV boutique to have it reconditioned. You didn't post any pictures... I'm not really into wallets, and just stick to one, but I'm sure the experts here will be able to tell you more about yours if you post pictures.

Hi Tash1, congrats on your new wallet!

Don't think BV wallets come with dustbags... at least it didn't when I bought mine from Changi airport. Only their bags come with dustbags.

Do post pics so the experts can tell you more about your wallet. We all enjoy looking at other people's purchases too.

BV tends to be more expensive in Singapore though but the prices of wallets are not that much higher compared to the US or the UK I reckon. The bags though are another story. Anyway I'm sure this won't be your last BV

If I'm not wrong you can send BV items to the BV boutique after 6mths or so but am not too sure. Do check with your local BV boutique.

Congrats once again!

Hi Tash1, welcome to the BV wonderland! Not sure about other cities but in HK, you can choose from getting a box or dustbag for BV accessories, including wallets. Anyway, please share pictures of your new wallet with us!

Hi Tash1, welcome to the BV world, aka the buttery soft leather heaven!

1. Accessories sometimes come with a dustbag, sometimes without.

2. I'm quite certain the colour is Ebano (my fav colour!). They have darker brown called Moro but i've never seen a wallet in it. It sounds like a long continental wallet that jane and piperlu also got recently (in different colours), but your pics would be helpful.

3. I'm no help here.

4. Generaly speaking, BV doesn't recommend any treatment, except for sending it to BV every six months or so for a spa service. However, I know many do their own pre and after treatment.

Enjoy!!

Congratulations on your first BV! Sounds like you made a great first choice. All BV wallets I've bought have come with either a dustbag or box but not both...

Tash1 - you have a darker wallet, so it won't show wear like the light leathers, so ENJOY!

when search is up you will find a number of threads on care of BV - including some from me.... people have used apple garde and collonil spray (sp?) for protecting. i use cadillac boot and shoe care lotion for moisturizing and water proofing. this is what bv.luxury, our uber SA, recommended. the key thing is to use products WITHOUT wax.

congratulations on your wallet! we look forward to pix!

1. I was just wondering whether it's supposed to come with a dust bag, as mine didn't and would like to get one for it. - In Singapore, accessories do not come with dust bag unless it's in exotic leather

2. What is the official name for this colour and style? - You should be able to see the item code inside the wallet. Look around and post us the number. I believe you purchased the Continental Wallet based on the price you paid

3. My wallet was S$1000.00 and not sure if that is more or less expensive than the UK/Europe. - Singapore is one of THE most exp place to buy branded stuff. We do know that BV in US is cheaper, but not sure about UK/Europe

4. How do you care for/treat the wallet? Is there a spa that can do this for me? - SAs don't recommend you treat the wallet but I do. I bring to a prof shop to give it a coat of waterproof spray.

Correction! My wallet, shipped to me from BV, had a dustbag AND a box. I doublechecked this morning.

My other BV wallet did not have a dustbag -- but duh, I got it from BlueFly!

congrats, Tash! My wallet was bought from a boutique but did not come with a dustbag.

except now, Jane has got me wondering if I missed something.....

I bought a leather care lotion from a shoe repair shop recommended by my SA and it cleans up the wallet beautifully. I try to remember to clean it often, since it does get used everyday and shows the wear.
