I had dinner out last night with three girlfriends (okay, they're all women in their 50's and I'm just a month away,) two of whom aren't into fashion at all, but one friend and I love our purses, shoes, jewelry, etc. She's a huge fan of Gucci and Louis Vuitton, and we have lusted over each other's bags and shopping trips to faraway cities to visit LV boutiques 'cause there's none anywhere near where we live.

So, we're sitting at dinner and I have my Large Crimson Veneta hooked over the back of my chair. The bill comes and I reach around for my bag to pull out my wallet. As I'm doing that she says, "Is that something I should know? Is that a Louis I haven't seen yet?" "No," I say, "It's a Bottega Veneta." "But, it's something I should know," she says, and asks if she can see it. So I hand it across the table and she holds it for a second, and then cuddles up with her head on it like a pillow! "This is GORGEOUS!" she coos. It was the cutest thing. (NO, I wasn't upset at all -- she's a GOOD friend.) Just had to share with the BV-lovers of the world! I think we have another to add to our roster.

Ah, she'll be hooked on BV. Cuddling Nappa leather is dangerous to your budget but very fun.
