Omg, I now know what that pimple is! It's a piece of glue that sticks to the leather, and when that piece of glue fell off today, it shows the original ostrich leather in is raw color!! I knew that pimple looking thing didn't look like the natural part of the leather! So now I am freakin out coz I need to redye that little spot! I was so desperate I ordered some copper and bronze shoe dye online. But maybe I should take it back to BV!? But how long will it take BV to redye that spot!!! Oh I am pissed!

Oh no, hikarupanda! That's awful! I don't what to tell you except I don't think you should do anything yourself. Maybe one if the other BV ladies will have a suggestion.

I'm so sorry!

OK, T, take a deep breath! You want this to be done correctly, so you want to take it to BV... are you near LA or SF? If so, take it into the boutique with your receipt and discuss options with them. If not, then I want to put you in touch with NYC and Ben who is the person in charge of repairs (he repaired a vintage lizard bag for me). To have it done correctly, may take time, BUT you have your new elephant campana, and other bags that you can carry in the meantime. It is indeed unfortunate that this happened, but I do believe that you have a good chance of having it fixed. Please keep me/us posted.

^ ok, I took a deep breath and tried to calm down myself. I think I am going to email my SA Andrea at SCP (that's the closest BV store) and ask her for help. Once she find out the details about repair/redye, I will drop off the bag at her store.

I will keep you all posted!

Oh wow .. your bag is beautiful .. I'm sure the spot will be fixed and all will be well.

Now .. I have to ask a really silly question .. why is it called a BELLY bag? Is it really from the belly of the bird? Or is the shape belly-like? Or what? I have been wondering and wondering...

I emailed Andrea along with some pics. But I will call her tomorrow too. Andrea has been very helpful and always responded to my emails in a timely manner so I don't worry too much about it. I worry more about how long this will take if it needs to be shipped back to Italy!!

Hi Ladies,

Update#1 - I got the bill from DHL. The custom fee plus the DHL agent fee is ONLY $212.7!! So with that I still saved about $400 compared to buying it locally. Not bad.

Update#2 - I just dropped off my bag to my SA at SCP. She will asked their leather specialist for opinion on what action should be taken. She thinks that they should be able to touch up that tiny spot, but she def. needs to see what the BV leather specialist says. She said she hopes to get back to me on the status by the end of this week. FINGER CROSS~~~

It sounds like you and your bag are in good hands! I have my fingers crossed for you, too!

I have not received my bill yet... I spent a little more than the sale price, already with the cost of shipping, but I would not change a thing... I love my bag, and would be without it, otherwise. $400 savings is really something!
