Default Is $1350 a good price for a BV bag?
I was just at Saks 5th Avenue in NYC. They are having sales on ALL bags. I never bought a BV bag before. I just purchased a YSL purple patent leather Majorelle bag for a steal and was wondering after looking @ BV bags which one of the two? Totally different looks. Does BV ever have blow out sales on their Veneta style? This was a medium Veneta in a camel color. It seemed a bit wide to me but the leather is everything Veneta lovers say it is. Please let me know! Thanks! - Linda

I am not sure what size Veneta you have seen in store but during the most recent sale large ones went for $979 and medium ones were $779. It was a 50% off retail. Usually, BV boutiques limit discounting to 30%. Nordstrom and Maxfashion also discounted BV bags up to 50%.

That said I don't think you'd be able to score Veneta from a store at 50% off at this point. Unless you get very, very lucky. The stock is pretty much gone from what I understand.

Reg price for a med veneta is $15xx, so $1350 is really not that big of a discount. What Blackpearl said is correct, BV just had a 50% sale on seasonal items and stock is probably low if not all gone. You could still try to call around the stores and see if you get lucky!

So much has been pre-sold especially at SFA anad I am sure the BV boutiques blew out their bags. Just keep checking around . The quality of BV bags are unsurpassesd so you do getta lotta bang for the buck. I also think this is the first time BV did a 50% sale. Usually it is 30- 40%

Thank you everyone! I will make phone calls. Thanks for the advice! BTW I don't know what the style is called, but I saw on one of the websites what looked like a long hobo. I tried it on in Saks, it was on sale for $1319. I saw it on a website for $950. It is plain leather with an "x" like stitching and has a snap closure. It looks like it's really meant for casual wear whereas I fell the Veneta bag can be worn with tailored or casual clothing.

So far to date, nada! Puleeez let me know a heads up before they have their next sale. I'm gonna treat myself to my very first BV bag. I want it to be a Veneta shoulder hobo in either saddle, black or a coffee color. (MY apologies I'm not familiar with their "colors" ! I phoned the stores as you have advised and they said next sale will NOT be 50% off and is expected around Thanksgiving.

Hey! Everyone! I just went into a BV boutique and fell in love with the large Veneta, which by the way is the same size I tried on at Saks. (They told me medium.) I also tried on the Sloane in Noce (I hope I'm spelling the "nut" color correctly). Both were to die for! Well not exactly but I was all along considering a chocolate Rive Gauche by YSL and it doesn't compare! The lambskin leather is soooo luxurious and I love both. It will probably come down to price point and I think I will have to wait until they have some sort of sale because I have kids, camp expenses, etc. Anyway, I loved both sooo much! BTW the noce color in the sloane is not the same as in the veneta. It is more of a taupe with dark shadings. Wow! I'm in love with BV!!!
