Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a new iPhone case from BV and I have some concerns about the functionality of it. When I used it for the first time, my iPhone fit quite nicely in the case. However, today I started to notice that the phone began moving up and down inside when I carry it in my hand. The case does not hold the phone as snug as before and it seems to be very loose. When I flip the case upside down with the phone in it, the phone tends to slide downwards.

I am just wondering if this is normal? It would be greatly appreciated if you own the case as well and would share your experiences with me. Thanks!

I don't own one of these, but from your description, it sounds like the leather has stretched with use. Does that sound accurate?

Hmm could be but it could also be that I didn't pay attention to this problem when I first got it. Besides, I've only had it for 2 days so it shouldn't stretch that much. I'm wondering if its normal for it to slide up and down bcuz the case is longer than the iphone. Thanks for ur input anyway!

True, altho the inside lining is cotton..?

Can anyone confirm if its meant to be like that? Bcuz I just checked the BV website and the dimensions of the case are a bit bigger than the iphone itself.

Theres no reason to return it if all of the cases are meant to be like that right? Haha..I simply want to know if others experience this as well

Hopefully someone with the case could help

I own a BV iPhone case in violet lambskin with clear PVC detail. I have been carrying my case everyday to protect my 4s for going on 2 1/2 months now. I love it and have no issues. The case has not stretched at all. I find it hard to believe that any BV, including nappa leather will noticeably stretch in just 2 days.

The BV iPhone case is designed with some room to allow you to remove your phone easily. I'm with September; if you aren't crazy about it, take it back to your boutique. BTW, if I shake my case with some force, the iPhone will ever so slightly move up and down.

The phone should NOT move in the case. Some designers make cases with slightly different dimensions to accommodate phones with different gigs and those from Europe. also, if you have iPhone 4 from VZW it is thicker by 1mm than the rest and very little fits.

Please excuse the bad quality photo, i used an old ipod haha.

As you can see from the pic, my iphone 4s does not reach the top (so the case is obviously longer in height), so while I walk and carry the case horizontally, the iphone tends to slide due to the gap between the top of the phone and the snap on closure strap.

Maybe I am over-thinking? Is it normal or is my case bigger than normal?

Thanks for ur input btw!

Is ur phone 8, 16, 32, or 64 gig? The 32 and 64 gig ARE longer and there are cases to fit. If the phone is 8 or 16 gig it will not fit I a longer cases.
Also, the heat from the phone causes the leather to stretch quickly.

My iPhone fits much tighter- can't take a photo, but it comes very, very close to the top of the strap. I have a 16 GB. I purchased my case at the Carmel boutique and tried it before pulling out my cc. I read Murphy47's post - first I have heard BV has different sizes of iPhone cases. I thought they were all the same. Did you buy from BV online or from a BV boutique? If from a boutique, I would stop by to share your concerns.

Don't know specifically if BV has different size case. KS, RM, and MJ do tho. Cases are their own addiction and darned pricy to boot. If it doesn't fit correctly now it will only get worse. Return/ exchange and get one that does.

Hmm the cases come in diff sizes? If it does, shouldn't it be mentioned on their website, especially in the e-shop? And the sales associate would've told me right? I have a 16 GB as well purchased in Canada so I think its the standard size.

I won't be able go go back to the boutique because I purchased it in Shanghai and I've left that city already :(

For what it's worth, "word" is the new iphone (if there is a new iphone coming) is going to be a bit bigger so your case might work on that one when you upgrade (if any of the rumors are true) so having a case that fits more than 1 size is good.

That said, and I don't want to be throwing cold water on you, but I've learned not to buy the fancier cases for my techo stuff--it changes too much (heck, I get a new cell phone every 2 years). I spent $40 on a Kate Spade iphone case and I knew that was too much, but it was too too cute. But your BV case does look nice and if your phone can't slip out, I would think that's ok because is is protecting your phone, which is the reason for these cases.
