Default Intagli intrecciato veneta

Those of you with the intagli intrecciato veneta (hope I spelt that correctly!), do you find the leather softer or stiffer than the normal leather on the veneta? Does it give it an older look? I'm torn between this and an ebano or noce veneta, and hoping BV comes up with a terra cotta/orange one.

I have it in the large. I love it. The leather is lovely. It's soft but not as buttery as some of my others but that could be because I haven't used it as much. The design in the woven strips adds a lot of interest and depth to the bag. jburgh has it I think in the maxi. I believe she used the term burnt caramel to describe the color..or someone did. It definitely has an undertone that the ebano does not have. If you check the reference thread the color shows up quite accurately. Hope this helps.

Mine is much softer than the regular ones. It is a chocolatey color.

Thanks, sunspark and LLANeedle. I guess it would be more interesting than an ebano. I just hope I'll like the patterns.

I've seen this IRL and it's really gorgeous! I was very tempted to buy one at that time.

Just for interest sake, there were some posts on the Itagli (sp?) intrecciato weave, something about it being quite delicate in that the leather strips may have tears due to the over-stamping.... something along this line, I can't remember the exact details to put it here correctly.

So, 88keys, if you are thinking of getting one, do check very thoroughly of each and every strip - pardon me if I'm wrong here, but this was the impression I got from some past discussions here.

Thanks, mlbags! I've searched through the threads and read the comments, and am thinking of calling the boutique to ask if there have been complaints.

I just succumbed and ordered the medium from BlueFly. I saw the pictures at NM of the ebano and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I'll be sure to e-mail the flyrep to ask her to check the bag carefully for me. It's such a good deal - priced the same as the normal leather ones, which makes it almost 50% off the price in Singapore ($3230), so now I don't feel so bad having bought my Oceano med at only 10% off in Singapore. The intagli is not on sale in Singapore.
