Some of you may remember I posted a few months ago agonizing if I should purchase a cabat! (Thanks for all the lovely TPFers with your invaluable input before). Since them I've been trying to stay away from TPF to save $ and seriously consider the cabat. I wondered over to lurk at the H side but think the bags are a bit structured for my current lifestyle. BV seems more casual and comfortable!
![]() Inspired by Doloresmia's post please help me choose a bag! I'm 5'4 for reference and I have an ebano veneta. ![]() Some photos for reference 1) Cinched Tote/Shoulder tote in maple or open to other colors http://www.bottegaveneta.com/shoponl...76df1&page=all 2) Nero/black medium cabat (borrowing the ebano pic) below 3) Peltro medium cabat below (sorry it's been so long I can't remember how to embed the photos ) 4) Peltro asian cabat Borrowing jeanhsiung's stunning cabat photo: http://forum.purseblog.com/attachmen...2&d=1204621404 5) None of the above! Save for H later in life. (Buy a Kelly wallet now ) For the cabat owners, there are options to put in magnetic snaps or leather ties on the cabats. Which option do you prefer? I've viewed Porsche Girl's lovely nero cabat with the leather ties but I've never seen the magnetic closure option and can't seem to picture it. Or would either lessen the chic look of the cabat? |

Definitely a medium cabat...the color choice is hard to make...go with what works best for your style...you can't go wrong with either the classics or peltro...

mystiletto - i LOVE these quandaries. like foxie-pooh, i think you have to let your lifestyle dictate the bag. for example, i love the H kelly but right now i live in flip flops and shorts or jeans most of the time, so i admire but that is it. the cabat would be great for a more throw and go lifestyle - and totally luxe to boot.
in the pix of peltro cannot tell whether i would love it as much as i did the ottone. i briefly owned the ossidato knot, and loved that coloring, but would like to see more views of the peltro. are you potentially doing a special order? porschegirl has some delicious SO cabats! then finally i think the snaps give the cabat some nice shape. since i am shorter (and a weakling) weight would be a factor for the medium - although i love the size. There is a lot of good discussion on the cabats - size and weight and so forth in this thread. i think spendalot and shopaholic&baby both have the asian and the medium cabat respectively and can also weigh in with their expertise. Ottone Cabats Available! good luck with the decision! i will be SOOOO happy for you if you get a cabat! |

I love the cabats. I wish I could have gotten one in Ottone. Such a pretty look.
The Peltro looks pretty too. I wish I could see that IRL. I'm sorry I'm not much help in deciding. I'm so new to BV that I would take any of them. LOL |

I love cabats for the easy luxury. They don't scream anything. They go with my easy lifestyle. They are lovely and practical, if one needs justification :). Also, since the leather ties were mentioned, they are inside, so they don't take away from the clean lines. The nero cabat is particularly soft and floppy, and the ties, when used, give it a pretty and unusual triangular shape if you want a little different look sometimes.

I voted for peltro medium cabat, but agree that you can't go wrong with either nero or peltro. I am 5'3" and am happy with the medium cabat. The best way is go try both sizes out if you are located in Hawaii or Asian cities, and see which size fits you best!

I vote for medium peltro cabat! I've tried on the medium for size and it's perfect. I'm 5'4". I'm partial to metallic colors as well.

I also vote for the medium peltro cabat. I'm also looking to purchase a cabat.
How do the leather ties work? Someone mentioned that they are inside the bag, does anyone have a picture of this?

Mystiletto, I think the cabat (whether medium or asian sized) in a metallic color would look great on you. BV has metallics that are beautifully subtle and it would work like a neutral. It can also be dressed up or down.

No question, a medium cabat. I own two now and my nero one especially is such a go-to bag for me. It's become super slouchy and it's just so easy to use, easy to fit with any type of outfit, low maintenance (good for sunny days, good for rain, fine when I'll have to lug lots of stuff, fine when empty, can be stuck on the floor if I'm somewhere where I wont have a place to put my bag, etc), yet still chic and not ordinary.
the color will be hard to choose... you'll probably end up with both eventually anyhow
