went to Saks yesterday and tried a maxi veneta and to my surprise i loved it. question- is it too big? i love big bags but is this just too big for someone who is only 5'4".
i was never attracted to the veneta- will this be an impulse purchase that i'll regret later or a welcome addition to my bv family? i know these are all personal decisions but what do those who own maxi veneta's think and those who decided against maxi veneta's- what made your decision? anyone else, what are your thoughts on this great bag? thanks for your help. |

hey annie i tried maxi but it looked ridiculous on me. however, i think it might have looked better smooshy, KWIM?
i am 5 1. there are pix of one of our other tPFers who is my height rocking the maxi. i think it just depends on your comfort level. |

Annie, I got a Maxi last year and it looked awful on me, I'm 5'4". Luckily I was able to return it and find one in a Large.
My advise, go back to Saks, put your stuff into the bag and try it on again, take you time and decide if you really think it's a look you like. Keep in mind you do have at least 30 days or is it 60 at Saks, to return if change your mind before you have used it. Good luck! |

Same here, maxi is too big on me but large is my favorite BV style along with cabats.

I'm just 5ft and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my maxi veneta, it's all just a matter if it fits your style or not
plus it's so drapey and molds to your body that it doesn't come across as that huge of a bag to me |

I tried the Maxi, too and loved it, but I am almost 5'8". I also kept in mind the softening and draping with use and weight. Just take your time and decide. Good idea to put your things in one at the store.
What color are you thinking?? |

I think it can go either way--it really depends on what you like when you look in the mirror. I am 5 ft 5 and when I look in the mirror it looks big to me. I have a friend who tried one on with me and she is 5 ft 3 and I thought it looked fabulous on her!
lol...I think one of the differences was when I tried it on I was like ..."oh, is this too big? I'm not sure.....does it make me look fat? what do you think?". She tried it on and it was "look at me, how hot is this bag?!! How hot do I look?" Bichon lover bought the maxi tiger veneta and I don't think she is more than 5 ft 6 (bl---you out there?) and it looks rockin' on her. Let me see if I can find her pic. |

For some reason I couldn't copy Bichon Lover's picture, but here it is in her reveal thread...post #1. It also looks like the bag had not started to slouch at that point. That makes it even look better.

I think big bags make my butt look smaller. Hey, I'll take any help I can get.

^^LOL! That is a good one, girlie! I have a Maxi Veneta in Nero and LOVE it to pieces. I tend to use it when I am traveling for business or when running errands and needing to carry tons with me and it hits it out of the ball park everytime. It has become very slouchy and drapes very seductively against the body. Women and men compliment me on this bag! It is a definite must as far as I am concerned.
I am tall too (5'9") so big bags are not an issue. I also have medium and large venetas and a cabat but this bag is my no-brainer go to bag for sure. Good Luck! |

thanks everyone- i think i will go and try the large for comparison. i was thinking of elephant or ash.
Juda- it's funny, i was never attracted to the veneta for myself but now i can't stop thinking about it. do you still use your veneta's? Marvelgirl- what makes this your go to bag over the cabat? i usually am attracted to two handled tote type bags. this seems so comfortable. i hope i can get to Saks today- |

No, that's what I love about it. It drapes to your body.
Honestly, I think the Veneta looks better on me that the Cabat, even though I really want one. The look of the Veneta is just so effortless. |
