I don't own a karo yet, but love the streamlined simple beauty and ever so cheerful colours. Also, it may work better for organising things within a bag, as it is less bulky than a BV cosmetic case.
I only have one small BV case, and I adore it like nobody's business. The weave, the colour, the smell, and the feel, are all so exeptional. It can certainly serve as a chic evening clutch if I ever had such opportunity. To me, karo is more practical and BV is more artistic, both in high quality and great craftmanship. What do you plan to use it for? |

I use both, but the Karo does not stand up on its own, because the base is a u-shape, which I find annoying. I prefer the BV cosmetics cases, but I use the Karo for keys, business cards, phone, and other bag essentials, even invitations and tickets, but I leave the top open and keep it at the back of my bag.

For carrying inside a purse, the Karo works better for me. The slender shape stores nicely with my wallet, calendar, etc. Plus it opens faster with just the snaps and not a zipper.
For travel and packing in a suitcase, the wide base BV cases work better, 'cause they will stand up and remain open. I have both sizes of Karo, so which I carry depends on the size of the bag. Right now in my large Veneta, I have a GM Karo in Rose Shocking--I like bright colors inside a bag (easier to locate). I have a couple smaller Karos for smaller bags--Brighton Blue and Framboise. The BV cases came in 3 sizes and many colors so you have a lot of choices there. |

I don't know anything about the Karo, but I do use a medium BV cosmetic case in my bag to store my BlackBerry, keys, card cases and any other smaller things I might be carrying that would otherwise roll around and get lost. I leave the zippers open at the top so it is easy to get in and find things like my keys when I need them, but still keeps everything organized. The flat bottom works well in my Montaignes as it has a wide base and therefore there is ample space for it to stand up alongside my wallet.

I prefer the wider bottom of the BV case because I can fit wide items in it. The Karo only works for small items IMO.

i have karo gm but don't use it inside my cabat because of the slender base and it falling over. i have been using a bv envelope and an lv pochette 26. i'm not a big fan of monogram but this i like. light, opens wide, totally wipeable and a good price point. does anyone have a picture of a bv one that works well inside a tote type bag?
this is my bag packed for a recent trip- i normally don't carry that much. |

I am leaning towards a karo as I think the colors are more interesting and I like the idea of snaps as opposed to a zipper. Thanks for all your input!! At these prices one doesn't want to make a mistake.

You've got that right! The Karo prices are getting ridiculous! I think I'm sticking with the little collection I have now. Not that BV cosmetic cases are inexpensive, just not as high. |

i agree that the karo comes in great colors.
i think they work best inside bags that are more structured so they stay in place. here are some examples- mods, sorry there isn't bv in these pictures- just want op to have as much info as possible. |

i have both too. i think BV cases add more to the weight of the bag which may or may not be an issue. if you are carrying a birkin, every excess ounce counts. however, ostrich BV cosmetic case like BM's soon to be new one could be a perfect weight :)
