Does it say Bottega Veneta inside? Several designers do woven leather bags.

It doesn't look BV to me.

Edit - I found it on a replica site...it is a cheap illegal Chinese replica. So the answer to your question is that it is not a BV bag, it is a fake.

I have seen this type of bag with a heat impressed nameprint on leather sewn into the lining "Bottega Veneta" on eBay, and in every case it was a counterfeit. What else do you know about this bag? Where is it offered, and do you have access to other pictures, especially of the interior?

Edit: jburgh says it all... Not authentic!

^There used to be a men's tote (I'm note sure, but I think uclaboi owns one in Noce Antique) in a similar shape, but it never came in intrecciato as far as I know. The handles don't look BV at all.

^^^I really understand how you're feeling, krasivaya. The first "BV" bag I bought (from an eBay seller), was a fake and I carried it around, so happy with it for months before comparing details with a genuine BV. I didn't want to believe it was fake, but it was. $300 went to some crook selling fakes. I was angry with the seller and felt stupid. I didn't know about the Purse Forum then. Several of us have had the very same thing happen--you are not alone!

The scary part is how good the fakes are becoming. On a site I won't mention, but they are famous for fakes, the details are getting so similar that it will be harder and harder to tell the genuine from imitation.

If you bought this bag, is there any chance you can get your money back? If you paid with a credit card, they can help. If not, you've learned something I learned--buy from people or stores that are known to sell the real thing.

Best wishes! Your next BV will be the real thing!

Hi Krasivaya, so sorry to hear about your loss. It's not just a lost of money but also I can feel how disappointing to find out the bag it's not an authentic one. I hope you can get the money back to invest to an authentic BV.

Thank you, thank you for all these messages. Boxermom, you mentioned really important thing - how good the fakes are becoming. Here in Moscow I even saw fakes are sold in some expensive boutiques as originals.
Unfortunately I can not get the money back. So it's my lesson.

krasivaya, so sorry that you received a fake. I also had a bad experience before with purchasing an LV online.

I have a bag that look similar to this style. But this one is from the men's collection.

krasivaya - Yep...consider it an initiation to the underbelly of counterfeit bags. We've all been there. Luckily there is an authentication thread in each of the designer bag forums. It has certainly saved me from making a mistake on more than one occasion. Glad you found us. It is a great site with lots of fun discussions and loads of learning experiences.
