Default Help! Is this BV supposed to look like this???
Hi ladies...

I just purchased this BV satchel from Ebay - I know, I know... but it is authentic, LOL! Anyway, the auction owner is a consigner, and stated that there was discoloration - especially on the bottom, and that she wasn't sure if it was supposed to be there or not. So I bought it, thinking I could just have the bottom dyed, but when I received it, the discoloration is not only on the bottom, but the handles, top area around the zipper, and on both sides of the leather flaps zipped within the bag. The suede leather lining is prisitine and super soft. Please check out my pictures of this bizarre discoloration. If any of you ladies can tell me the name of this bag, and whether or not this bag is supposed to be this way, that would be fantastic!

Thanks so much

Here are the last two of the leather flaps inside the bag.

First off it is a beautiful bag! I don't think I would have noticed the discoloration if you had not pointed it out.

I am not familiar with the bag, so I will wait for the others to join in.

Wow... the bag has def. faded. It suppose to be as dark as the color on the leather flaps inside the bag, unless if the pink is suppose to be there.. I can't really tell. I only thought Balenciagas had fading issues..~! You can get it professionally dyed through Lovinmybags, however the price tag to redye the entire bag might be steep.

Unless you're willing to pay to have it redyed... are you able to return it back to the consignor?

maybe it's some kind of gradiant bag? the color changes look intentional, no?

Hi there...

Yes, I think it is supposed to be an "Ombre" coloring, where it is darker on the ends and sides, and lighter in the center. I just have never seen one this discolored - even on the inside! It was so odd, that I thought maybe it is supposed to be that way, LOL! Well, I think I'll just send it in to LovinMyBags and get the bottom recolored at least... The other discoloration is not that noticeable.

Thanks so much ladies

Thanks for the info about LovinMyBags... I contacted Artbag.com and though they don't mention it on their site, they do dye bags... But I'd rather hand this baby over to someone who DOES advertise it

you might want to bring it into a BV store... they could also send it out to be dyed and also would confirm if it was Ombre.

I believe it is Ombre. There were several ombre styles. If you PM me all the numbers on the authenticity tag, I'll do some research.

EDIT: Nevermind - I looked up the auction. The bag is goatskin and the color is Parma. It was from Resort 07/08. I could not find further documentation, but I believe it was intentionally colored that way.

Hi there...

Do you really think so? I just don't want to get it re-colored if it is supposed to be that way. I thought that it was supposed to be that way too, because the leather itself is still supple and not dull, like the way older leather gets, and also the interior leather had the same discoloration, yet the suede lining was perfectly uniform in color, and soooooooooooo soft.

I guess I'm just going to have to get off my lazy butt and go downtown to the BV store in our Houston Galleria mall and find out for myself... Surely they would be able to tell me if it supposed to be that way or not?

Hi there...

Took your advice and called the BV store here in Houston, but they said they could only re-color black or brown bags... You would think for what they charge for the bags in the first place they would re-color the rainbow if you asked them! LOL!

Thanks again

I would think Ombre bags would be hard to re-dye since the color is not uniform in the first place. I actually like the color variation in that bag.

It's beautiful- the ombre color makes it more distinctive and unusual. Enjoy it. Have you tried it against any of your clothing?
