Default F/W 08 Trunk Shows?
Does anyone know if and when any BV F/W 08 trunk shows are going to take place? Looking back on the forum last year it sounds like they started in March and ran through April and May. And most importantly, is anyone here going to one?! I can't wait to hear about the upcoming seasonal colours - I'm thinking dark and rich... And
if you are lucky enough to be going, please please please keep an eye out for me for the animal print Montaigne - and if it is possible to take pictures at a trunk show show... hint hint hint... TIA!!

Maybe we should get a group together and go to one? I have not received any emails about anything upcoming.

Wouldn't that be fun?! And I desperately need a vacation, but I am so BV obsessed right now that all I can think of for vacation destinations are places where there would be lots of BV shopping available (right now I'm thinking Las Vegas or New York...).

Nothing wrong with that! Isn't there a meetup in NYC sometime soon?

Oh, I know jburgh - the thought of the BV boutique in NYC and a trip to the BV outlet almost put me over the edge! Unfortunately I just don't see my work schedule letting up until late summer/early fall, though... Sigh.

So no one has heard anything about any trunk shows this spring?

I checked what's coming up for NM in the Chicago Michigan Avenue location and on March 26 (a Wednesday), 10am-4pm, they are having a BV trunk show. This is about the same time last spring that I happened to be there and attended. The representative told me they don't do many trunk shows.

May I ask what typically happens at a trunk show? I've never gone to one...

Are trunk shows for BV in the US the same as trunk shows in Singapore?

We had the Spring/Summer 2008 preview in January, and it just consisted of all the ready-to-wear and bags etc laid out at a venue, with the SAs introducing the new collection to invited customers.

Is that how it is in the US? Are the trunk shows held in store? Or at an outside venue?

I'm going to the trunk show at the Beverly hills store on April 12. I think it's April 10,11,12 there.

Last March, the BV representative told me that they didn't do many; they were waiting for a shipment from Venice to arrive at O'Hare and be delivered to the store! In the store's purse department they had several of the expected Fall 07/08 styles and some of the new colors. She had a book showing all the styles, colors and leathers along with some pieces of leather that shows the steps in weaving. The "show" was basically people stopping by to admire, ask questions, etc. Nothing beyond that. There were no shoes or clothing displayed.

From what I've heard, other designers have more elaborate events. I haven't been to a trunk show in a BV store, so maybe they are different.

^ I've been to a couple of trunk shows by other brands, and it's definitely different from the BV format.

I've been to several BV trunk shows. They have the new line displayed, serve light refreshments, and have the style book so you can see which materials and colors are available for each style, if you want to do special orders. It's friendly and low key.
