Does The Medium Veneta's Strap Stretch?

Hi- I am considering a nero medium veneta, as I like the look of it on my hand, but I am finding that the drop on the strap is MUCH shorter than the large, and probably will not go over a coat, but will just work on my shoulder in the summer..there is something about the look of this bag as opposed to the LARGE that I am loving, as I see it to be a hair chicer for evening? however for day, it is limiting.. Will this strap stretch? Or do you suggest a different style bag? the new BALL bag is similar in size too..how do you compare?

prestwick, IMHO the new ball fits better on the shoulder than the medium veneta and holds about as much. But the profile of the new ball is that of a much larger bag b/c of it's depth. I'm short but not petite and the medium veneta was too small to look proportional whereas the new ball looks good. I hope that makes sense.

The medium veneta strap does stretch when you put things in you bag and it weighs it down quite a bit. I agree with you that over a coat the bag does live a little too close to your armpit, whereas the ball sits a little lower. I think the new ball would work better as a day to evening bag because the hardware makes the ball a more chic (er) bag IMO.
