Doloresmia- thank you once again for your help. I did a search and found the first link you posted. I am used to Balenciaga. They list the colors by year and season with a color swatch and the name. I thought there might be something like that in BV and that I just wasn't finding it. Thanks again for your help!!!!

peppermintpatty - BV has certain classic colors that are used every year. These are neutrals Noce (nut brown), Nero (black), Moro (dark chocolate), and Ebano (milk chocolate) and hopefully...wishing, hoping...Ferro (grey). But there is not a list like the Bbags. Plus, some colors look totally different in different exotics. To toss a monkey wrench into the works, the BV boutiques may have different colors than the department stores or independent boutiques.

With BV it is not as straightforward as the list Bal has each season. Are you looking for a particular color? Check out the reference library, too!

jburgh- thanks so much for the explanation. I am reading tons on the styles and am just now starting to learn about colors. I just thought I would ask if they were listed somewhere like bbags. Thanks for explaining that they are not. I am not looking for a particular color, just thought I should try to find out what was current so I wouldn't miss out on anything and kick myself later. It does remind me a little of bbags in that one color has 2 names. It's complicated and exciting to be learning about a new line. I am excited!!!! Right now I am leaning towards waiting on the upcoming bronze color- so pretty!!! Thanks again for all of the help I have been receiving. I appreciate it and am looking forward to my first ( I am sure one of many) BV purchase!

The colors are definitely quite confusing, since in addition to the classics jburgh sets out above there are then the set of seasonal colors for each season, but not all of them are available in every style and some of them are available in different leathers and exotics. And then there are some others (Ottone, maybe Ash, for example) that seem to bridge several seasons but still not be a classic color that is always available like noce, nero etc.

The current seasonal colors were described somewhere as the colors of the painted night sky - and include Turbolence (purple), Eclipse (red), Baltic (grey-blue), Torrent (green) - and others I can't think of. Some are also available as irridescent leather in some items. Then soon we should be starting to hear about the Resort colors - from pictures a while back they seemed to possibly include some quite bright ones like an orange, turqouise, green but we don't really know the story there yet. But I'm with you - I'm looking the most forward to the bronzy and coppery colors that seem to be the theme of the upcoming Spring/Summer collection!

high fashion brands are very mysterious that way....

i fall in love with a fall color, and then the spring runway shows have the most beautiful colors and i am thrown into a land of indecision again! so know what you mean about not wanting to miss a color.

Thanks Bookermoose for the added info. It is very helpful. So Ferro (grey) isn't a current color? Do you think there would be any chance of finding a large Veneta or a Pyramid in Ferro? I appreciate you helping me out while I am learning the BV ropes- thanks again!

Sorry, I forgot to mention Ferro. It was originally a seasonal color from Fall/Winter 2007, but then it was so popular that they brought it back again this season... I recall seeing something (but I can't remember if it was just speculation) about it becoming a classic color so it would always be available, if that happened. I believe Ferro is Nappa Umbria, so only certain bags are available in it (such as the Sloane, Pyramid, Roma - and not the Veneta, Montaigne) - although Bunkie (where is Bunkie these days? - we miss you!) did do a special order of a Ferro Veneta which was absolutely beautiful.
