OK, so while I am trying to find my HG Roma, I have been seeing all the amazing Rame veneta pictures... And I found one on Bonanzle, in medium. Sooooooo - I am very very tempted in the interim to buy her.... if the seller drops the price a bit, of course. I know it was on sale for half price and the bonanzle price is very high, so I am hoping to lower it...
IF that happens, should I get it??? I never owned a Veneta before.... Is the Rame durable? How does the metallic wear - does it come off at all, lose lustre with use? Most importantly - I see many pictures of the Veneta when it looks kind of rectangular, and some pictures show it nicely slouched... does it look slouched in use? Please give me some advice - is this a good purchase for me??? I am 176 cm or 5'9 - dont want a huge hobo but a nice normal size bag, so medium looks good.... Any advice is HUGELY appreciated. And, as always, if you see a Roma in neutral color less than retail out there, please PM me!!! |

Every SA I've spoken to about Veneta sizes has said that the large is ideal, especially for someone around our height (i'm just over 5'8"). I even had one BV SA tell me that she felt the medium size was useless. I definitely don't agree with that statement, especially after trying on the medium and finding it to be totally adorable. However, it is a bit small in both the shoulder drop and interior space and its tighter getting items into and out of it. Also, it doesn't look as good as the large (again, especially on our height) when it slouches.
That's my 2 cents and I'm sure some of the ladies on here with more experience will chime in to help out momentarily

My first was a medium V. and I find it ok for evening but not quiiiite big enough for day. Now I have a large, was looking big but now starting to soften up, looking better and better. If you are truly controlled about what you carry, the medium might work for you. The size of your wallet is a big factor. Also your sunglasses case.

I have medium veneta but it does not fit easily over a coat in the winter ... it is fits fine on shoulder with a sleeveless top or lightweight sweater. I'm 5'3" height and size 6/8. You should try them on at a boutique if possible. It's alot of money and you want to get the right size.

At your height, you would definitely be happier with the large. But, wait for your HG!!!! One will turn up, I am sure.

Yes, wait for the Roma since that's the one that you really want. Buying something else in the interim will just make you wish you had waited.

FYI... I believe a Medium Copper Rame Veneta went up on "thebay" today. Too small for me, too, but maybe someone reading your thread will be interested.

OMG ladies, I am BAD... despite all your wise advice and reason, I could not resist and got the rame in medium... The seller was a tpfr on Bonanzle. I looked for HOURS at pictures with medium and large and concluded that the large is too big for what I am looking for... Even though I am tall, I am not looking for an everyday bag, rather for a smaller size cute purse for weekends, and the rame is already so bright that in large I am afraid it may be too much shine... I have so many lovely large bags for everyday, and this one got me because of the color mostly. I carry a tiny Ferragamo wallet, and keep my sunglasses mostly on my head - so no big items, and my make up bag is small as well. So I can definitely condense my things to a smaller bag...
In any case, while on one hand I really worry that I went against everyone's advice, on the other hand I just have this gut feeling that it will be my new "candy" and it will fit just the way I want it... Of course I am still hunting for Roma, but I could not resist the crazy BV bug!! Luckly I financed the rame completely by selling both of my Belen Echandia bags this week!!! Am I crazy??? I think I am!!! |
