As usual, I am late to the party and start hankering after a color once the season is gone. I am in love with Carmino, but that color is getting hard to come by (except in BV stores in Japan where it is still selling at full price). So I am considering Cassis. I have tried both IRL and both look equally good, but I think the Cassis color is brighter and pops up more against my skin tone.
Do you think I should "compromise" with Cassis? It looks lovely too. Only concern I have is with matching (my belts, shoes, outfit etc). A true red would be easier to match, no? Love to hear your opinion on this - Cassis or Carmino - which do you prefer? |

I really like both colors. To me they are different. The Cassis is a deep red/fuchsia color and goes with more items that pinks typically do. The Carmino is, as you said, a true red.

As colours, I probably like them both equally - they are definitely different although both very vibrant. For a bag that goes with my wardrobe, however, carmino clearly wins out... But that is just me.

I have both, and would like to keep both, but darn it! Jburgh's pic of her Intagli Intrecciato on this thread Any Feedback On The Intagli Intrecciato Veneta???
slayed me dead and I snapped the one up that was on portero. So now I have to let something go. Anyway, the cassis goes with all my browns, earthy greens, and even my brights like yellow. The only color I wouldn't wear it with is a true red. The true red almost doesn't work as well for me cause I have embraced pink this year. Like I said I would happily keep both. Oh, I give up, they are both extremely wearable colors. I have no good advice. Just ignore me lol.

Both are gorgeous. I own a carmino veneta and it gets lots of compliments. I didn't like the cassis as much but that is because it didn't suit me as well. Go with your gut feeling as one will speak to you more than the other. I know how hard it is. I still can't decide whether I want a blue or yellow veneta next and I've been thinking about it for over a month now! |

I have the carmino veneta and tried on the cassis as well recently, although cassis was gorgeous with it's rasberry shades, I think carmino is a more classic red, but then it depends on if you can find it easily as you said, maybe all us carmino owners are just a wee bit biased....

Cassis goes great with purple, orange and grey, too! |

I prefer a true red, so my vote's for Carmino, although I think Cassis is soooo pretty by itself too.
Just go with your gut, and what wears best with your wardrobe, cos either way, both colours are gorgeous! |

Sigh... this question is now irrelevant, as the carmino small capri tote I was eyeing at BF is gone! I had her in my shopping cart and exited just for a few seconds to get a BF discount code, and someone else snapped it up. Having decided on the carmino, the cassis one is second choice and I probably won't be as thrilled with it if I bought it.
Does anyone here have the small capri tote (it looks like the mini version of the roma bag). Any comments on functionality? Looks like the perfect small day bag that could be used for evenings as well. |

Don't despair or give up, Minda... Someone might just have it in their cart for now but it could still come back... Or there are some carmino Montaignes on BlueFly right now instead...

I am not considering the carmino Montaigne only for the reason that I have a similar sized bag in red already. Looking for something more tiny and dainty right now. I am surprised that the 2 carmino montaignes at BF were not snapped up as quickly as I thought they would. The Montaigne in carmino is TDF!
