Default Cabat in ottone
Thanks to jburgh's help, I somehow tracked down a cabat in ottone but would now like to ask all the ottone bag/wallet/pouch owners how the ottone leather ages. Does it rub off badly? Do the handle bits get rubbed off easily and change the colour???

I would be very grateful if you could tell me how happy the ottone owners are about their purchase in the long term.

Thanks so much for your helpful advice in advance!!

I've had my Ottone Sloane for almost 2 yrs and it holds up perfectly. The metallic didn't rub off at all--not one bit. Grab that cabat without a doubt.

i've had an ottone cabat for 2 years and the same experience. it has softened but i think that is a good thing and has held up perfectly. i don't use it continuously.
i have an ottone envelope and ottone wallet which have been used heavily and are in perfect condition.

as you can tell i love ottone- grab that cabat and enjoy.

Thank you all so much for your quick comments!!

The one I saw was a used one and it looks like the colour of the handles has changed a bit, although the bag was only used once or twice.

Is that possible????

>doloresmia,
Yes, I would definitely PM you when I have decided not to purchase it!

It is always possible - can you ask the seller for more pictures of the handle (with the macro turned off so you really can see detail) to make sure it is not the lighting? i know the nappa bag handles can change color from use - natural oils, lotion, etc., however, i have a copper cabat in chevre and it seems to be less prone to that sort of thing.

Mme - I have had an Ottone Sloane for about 1.5 years. It has slouched a little, but not worn. I see no gold rubbed off and I double checked the bottom. I tend to toss my bags - sorry to admit that - I can see the fingers wagging already.

My ottone cabat has worn very well. I got it the season they came out. No complaints.

LOL!!!! I didn't think so!! Personally, I like a well worn leather. It adds to the character. Not beat up, but lovingly worn. I still like the idea of a showbox filled with Knot bags.

I have an ottone wallet and it has held up very well. No rubs or marks on it.

I am sure you'll be quite pleased with the ottone cabat. That is one gorgeous bag.
