^^ All I can say ReRe is that I hope the Burnt Marshmallow Cabat for you is like the Leopard Print Montaigne for me... I saw a tiny picture of it from the Early Fall collection last year and that was it - I was truly obsessed from that point even when I found out the silly price (darn Croc accents and handles) but I just couldn't get it out of my mind and I had to have it. But over a year afterwards it still really is my HG and makes me happy whenever I look at it or carry it... and I have never regretted it even for a moment.

Maybe when you see it irl and have a proper chance to get to grips with it, you will be able to know if the price is justified and also to ensure that you dont go off it in a few months/years.

Its a ton of money and could buy me 3 bags instead of one, so I'm hoping I can be rational when I see it.
sweetie, i just don't think you will be. this is a gorgeous bag IRL.

ReRe -I am assuming you decided against the Birkin.

I totally understand what you mean by it might have become all about the chase for you.
That's what happened when I bought the croc BV handbag this summer.
I don't regret buying it but I don't love it - i would have preferred to buy a croc Campana or Montaigne not to mention the lizard brass cabat - it became all bout the chase for me.

But since you are already aware of the problem it is much easier to avoid it

That being said I never regretted buying any of the Cabats.
IMO the cabat is not something you regret buying unless the tie dye is not - for some "crazy" reason - the right cabat for you

ReRe, hopefully you will just know when you see the bag if it is the love of your life, or not!
BookerMoose, that is so cool that your leopard Montaigne is still your HG!

"Nuvolato" is the term used for crinkled fabric in Italy, like when it's gathered and has thread wrapped around it and is dyed.

Oh! Duh. It's the term they use for "Tie Dyed" in Italy.

Yay! It is good to have someone who speaks Italian on the forum! I go to Babelfish, but it is not always correct.

Glad I could figure this one out. There are huge holes in my knowledge, but I have cousins living in Italy who steer me right (although only one of them speaks English...the others speak Italian and Spanish).

I love Gladiol for S/S '10. Gorgeous men's leather jackets and bags.

As I look upon the new styles in this thread, a small drizzle of drool forms at the corner of my mouth.

I simply cannot stand to look at these beautiful bags any longer. Obsessed! ..that's what it is. And you gals are to blame! Ok, you and BV.

The Intreccio Nuance Bag shown here is the one I MUST HAVE (and can afford). I am not waiting on Santa, I must take action.

What is the best procedure to order one?

^Call any BV boutique to preorder the S/S 2010 collection. All BV sales associates are very knowledgeable and a joy to work with. The S/S 2010 will start delivering in Feb 2010.

Welcome to the forum! You can pre-order this bag from a BV store if there is not one from your local area, many of us have recommended SAs. BV is very friendly, don't be afraid to call them directly... also I would be happy to recommend mine if you PM me. Although my SM is pretty obvious on the forum as i am constantly posting pix from him.

We are such good enablers that we sometimes forget we are not talking hundreds of dollars here, but thousands... and in this case $5-8K, so I understand your feelings... in fact, I echo them! What if we tire of this huge purchase in a couple of years??? What if I love it initially, but after a period of time, I do not love it the way I thought that I would???? That is what prevented me from keeping the reflet cabat... just doubt about how I would feel in a year... and that is what is keeping me from making a decision right now.

I have followed the resale of a couple of nappa cabats, and they do not bring in close to retail w/o taxes. So, the loss might be substantial should I do want to sell. Always the opportunity costs!... darn it!

Seeing it will be the key, ReRe! But asking yourself lots of questions in the meantime, too! I am waiting to purchase my cabat until I see the cabats in LA next February. I am the type of shopper that will try on multiple editions until I find the one that I love... and you cannot ask that 10 be sent... lol!

I wish that I had Juda's confidence!

Thanks Baggiana, you definitely get me. I don't buy my bags for resale, but its painful to see a bag you pay retail for, cut in half on ebay. Even my mini crochet which I got at half price, I later saw on ebay much cheaper. In this economy it makes me feel a bit guilty, none of my friends buy the kind of bags I do. And yes, being on this board is enabling but it is where we come to share our passion.

I agree with your post, I think if you can spend a lot on a bag and 6 years down the line are still in love with it, it is money well spend, but if you are sick of it in 6 months, it is a waste.
