Default BV newie needs help! Can't make up my mind!!!
Hi all, I have been a Chanel addict, but I think I need a hobo bag, and I am in love with the leather on BV Veneta hobo. And yes, both the dark purple (turbolence) and Baltic are gorgeous!

While I cannot make up my mind on Turbolence vs. Baltic, I am having a problem trying to figure out the size and whether I want it pleated....

I got the large pleated veneta in turbolence during Saks F&F event, BUT I think it looks a bit too wide on me (length wise I am fine as it hangs around where my lower waist is, but it just looks so wide). I wonder if the regular large ones w/o the pleating will make the bag slouch more and thus less wide? If so, I think I would want the regular large one instead. While I am short (5'1") so when I tried on the medium, it still looks fine, and I think medium will still hold all the stuff I need, however, I think the large one feels more comfortable on my shoulder even when I am wearing a thick coat.....

So, Dark purple or Baltic?
Large or Med?
Pleated or not pleated?

Of course, another factor is what kind of good deal is available out there, like BlueFly seems to only have med veneta but the discount is also attractive.

HELP!!

HELP!!!

I am 5'6" and have the large pleated Veneta in Turbolence. I also have a large non-pleated Royal Carmino Veneta. The pleated one looks a little thicker than the non-pleated version. I think the pleated one is more comfortable, not sure why. Perhaps it is because it is thicker. But the regular Veneta is pretty darn comfortable too, as it my Maxi Veneta. And the more you wear them, the more they slouch. Color is a tough one. Which color would go best with your clothing or coats?

Size wise, it has to depend on ur daily needs?

^ Thanks ladies.

I like both Turbolence and Baltic, both colors would work with some of my clothes in the wardorbe. And I actually have no bag in purple so I am kinda leaning towards Turbolence (I actually have a chanel classic flap bag - much smaller though - that is in a similar greyish blue as the Baltic).

I am looking for a more casual style, and I am gonna have a baby so I may need a bigger bag to hold more stuff (this is not gonna be a diaper bag! but I figure as she becomes a toddler I may need a bigger bag to hold an extra diaper, a bottle of water and her toy etc.) Also, i think the large one feels more comfy on shoulder (I think the med. may have a problem staying on the shoulder if I have my thicker winter coat on). So between large and med, I think large will be more functional.

But now lets talk about the look, I am only 5'1", so if my pleated veneta doesn't slouch, it seems a bit wide on me (the very bottom). And I am wondering if the regular veneta will slouch more since it is not as "thick" if you will. Or for those who have used both the regular large veneta and pleated large veneta for a while now, do you think they slouch equally well? If so, then maybe I should stick with my pleated large. Although I have see some modeling pic here and there on this forum, if any of you have a regular vs. pleated veneta (large or med), could you post your modeling pic? I am esp. interested in seeing people with my height wearing the large size regular and large size pleated.

Sorry for the long post. But I really need to make up my mind!

TIA!!

hikarupanda - the BVs will definitely eventually slouch - particulary the large ones. i think some people have put soup cans in their bags and left them hanging just to achieve that effect sooner rather than later. you and i are the same height and i just felt the large was too large for me, but i think that is a personal style statement more than anything. i have posted these pictures before, but it is a 5 foot SA (size 0) wearing a large (and a medium for comparison) and i think she looks just great with the large and no slouch. also if you are planning to have an extra change of clothes or diapers, large is more practical for sure.

the turbolence is really an amazing color. i saw the most beautiful turbolence cosmetic case in the BV BH window yesterday. i definitely covet that... for a bag i would go baltic as i LURVE blues....

good luck with your decision and we DEFINITELY want to see what you choose!

FYI the first picture is with the large, the second with medium

I think the large Veneta is good on most everyone. Personally, from what you've said, my suggestion would be the un-pleated large Veneta in turbolence. The Baltic would be fine too, I just think purple shades are so flattering to most women.

Have fun deciding and let us know/post pics!
