Default BV Multicolor Mini Crochet Reveal
This bag is so unusual I thought she deserved a reveal of her own. Here are the stats:
Mini Crochet Ball Bag - Tea
$5,200.00
$3,119.00 SALE (plus another 10% when I get the Barney's Charge opened)
Mini crocheted leather bag with top zip and rolled leather handles. Suede interior with leather-trimmed zipper pocket and organization pocket. 18" diameter. 3.5" width. Ltd edition of 200, this is number 164. It is the smaller of the two mini crochet bags, it has yellow, orange and brown (I think its saffron, curry & Tea) crocheted strips. It flattens down when laid on the floor like a plate carrier (or so the critics have described it) then expands and opens up to a pouffy pillow shape when held.
I'd like your honest opinions to help me decide.

I think it is stunning! Do we get to see modeling shots? That would really help me decide for you!

Jburgh...let me know if there is limit on the pictures, I took everyone literally when they said to shoot alot. The ltd ed tag is so shiny it is reflecting the zippered compartment

Wow! Great pictures of a beautiful bag. The pictures that I have seen online of this bag do not show it well or do it justice.

Congrats!

Do you think the droopy saggy bottom is unattractive or just part of this bag, I thought about putting something in to flatten out the bottom and try to remove the sag

I think the bag is stunning, but it is a style of bag that you either love or hate, it is not for everyone. It is a limited edition bag with an different weave and colourway, if you love it, you should keep it, if not send it back. Also it is very difficult to try to work out ways of making it less droopy, the bags design is for a droopy effect, unless you put the things that they use for speedy.

Sammyjoe, that's what I was thinking of, the bottoms they use on the speedy. But I know this bag is supposed to droop so fighting it may not make much sense. Unfortunately the love it or not isn't working. I love looking at it, I love the workmanship. This was THE bag I picked from this collection as soon as I saw the catalog. I never ever thought I'd find it on sale because its limited. I'm just concerned about if it works with my wardrobe which tends more toward black and gray. I do have some browns, but this bag would call for solids..no prints. My other concerns are will it appear dated in the very near future. Some times the more trendy bags turn out that way, not to say this is Dior trendy...but the colorweave makes it less classic, as does any BV bag with bright colors and designs.

And if this decision isn't hard enough, Bergdorf's just called to say they found a large copper rame veneta (tucked away) and sort of talked me into taking it at 40% off and assured me I can return it if I didn't love it. This BV sale and the ones last fall are killing me!!

i love this bag. i think it is fabulous and so different. i wouldn't try to make it less droopy because i think that is part of its style.
i think the colors are neutral enough to go with black or brown and as far as prints i guess that will depend. you bring up a legitimate concern about the bag seeming dated because it is so unique. not sure about that one.
i guess the bottom line is that it is a good deal on a very beautiful bag but you have to feel comfortable with it and love it. if you don't love it send it back. there are always new bags coming out and it is still a lot of money. i do hope you keep it but if not it will be someone's dream bag.

Thank you annie9999...the more I look at these pictures, the harder it will be to part with it. Don't you wish your holy grail bag could be your holy grail bag for more than a season???

I think it is a stunning bag, BUT, if you have doubts, it is a lot of money and you might be better served with the Rame Veneta and wait for fall.
I think part of the charm of the bag is the droopiness and the colors are just gorgeous and I think, quite neutral. I am no help, am I???

ReRe - glad I am part of the "no modeling pics" club!!!!
