I'm coming in very late here, but am happy you've decided to keep the bag! It is very unique and gorgeous, and how fun to get so many compliments. It cracked me up that you gave her your raincoat and umbrella, and got wet yourself. I would have done the same!

Congratulations!!

She is now on her third day of use. I am down at my beach cottage and my neigbor went into the house to get water and came back outside carrying my mini crochet. She couldn't stop drooling over her. I think she is getting spoiled. I may need to give my Matita Belly Bag an outing.

I am so glad that you love and kept her, too! She is extraordinary!!! I bet your matita belly will get more use in the fall and winter, but for now, the mini crochet is the bag of the moment!

Congratulations ReRe!

It's true what others have said about this bag, either you love it or hate it -- but for me I love it though I can't even explain why. Maybe because it's an homage to the beautiful handcrafted baskets or because of the uniqueness and softness of its shape and mix of colors that make it different.

I also thought about what one Hollywood stylist said about accessories not having to match the wardrobe exactly, but that they "just have to make sense". So I guess this means that so long as things look good together, we can match them even if they defy the normal laws of what colors or textures go together to create a great, interesting look -- although your bag is already interesting enough

I wore it to BV AC tonight and the girls loved it. They had not gotten the small one in, only the larger one with green. I didn't realize this, but they said it was goatskin like the matita because the colors were very shiny. It does remind me of a basket and I collected them for some time, so maybe that was my connection. It truly is a work of art and so soft and scrumptious.

IMO, it was such a great choice - and one of the stars of the season!
