The bag is riveting and definitely unique. I do like it very much.

It is a great bag if it suits your lifestyle or if you can see yourself using it a lot :)

Congratulations. I adore that bag, and although the colors don't work for me, I am ecstatic that you are lucky to have found that bag. Enjoy!
I posted it in the misc bag category, will get it into the color by season thread, or if you can do it feel free. Thanks for the encouragement. Hubby knows I'm dying to wear it out tomorrow with my outfit, but its one of those local cruises on the river and I'd be worried about laying it on the floor.

Outfit sounds perfect! No floor though. Hang it around your neck if you have too and take action pics. You have no excuse not to because your hubby will be with you, I think.....

Hubby is opting out, its a work event and although we work for the same company he went last year and doesn't want to go again. We take all our lead teachers out for an end of year cruise, about 50 of us in all so it gets a little rowdy. They are mostly young girls and its the last couple days of the school year so they have quite a bit to celebrate.

I keep having visions of someone dropping a drink on it.

ReRe, I am late in the discussion, I have been away, went home to my mommy for a couple of days and then to my fav beach resort for another couple of days.

My input is the bag is gorgeous, I love the way it sag too, and I bet if you put different stuff in there it will sag differently. As for it will be outdated, I disagree on that, this is not a "trendy bag" in my opinion, it is just different from our normal BV staples that's all. I think it will continue to be refreshing, interesting and will be the oohhhh ahhh bag for years to come.

However, I can totally understand if you are not loving it, I own a few pairs of ear rings, shoes and bags (not branded but different) that have many poeple telling me that they loved it on me but they would not have bought it themselves. This is one of those bags that you have to wear it with confidant that you totally love it.

Whatever it is, enjoy it while you have it.

Its official the mini crochet is here to stay. The pale orange linen outfit I wore today was perfect for the bag, so I did like Bichonlover with her Chanel and absolutely couldn't resist wearing her out. She got tons of compliments. I was in the ladies room on the cruise and someone came up and was raving about the bag and everyone at work was stopping by to visit with her. I found a pumpkin boucle sweater in my closet that goes great so now I am going to look further for more things that might match. And if that fails, I'll be getting some new things. I was so worried about what to do with her on the cruise (we had a group of 50), but there was an extra seat at my table, so in she went, covered by my raincoat. Of course it rained on the way there so she got the raincoat and umbrella and I got wet. I almost didn't want to go to the ladies room because I'd have to dig her out and haul her in with me. But since she snagged the compliment in the ladies room I was happy I took her in. Then I wrapped her back up in my raincoat and back on the chair. Of course someone knocked their drink over (exactly what I imagined), she got a bit damp but thank god it was only water, so no damage done. Could you imagine a glass of soda or one of those fruity drinks everyone was having. Well sorry for the long post but she is out and christened. PS The bag came from Bergdorf but instead of the copper rame veneta it was an oxidized copper hobo type bag. Did not like it at all so back she goes. If anyone has an interest I'll be happy to PM you with the sales person. It was 40% off, and came to about what the copper rame would have been at 40% off, so that threw me off too. Guess its fate.

^^Great news, ReRe! Woo hoo! So glad you're enjoying your new bag, despite the rain. It hasn't been the best weather lately here for a cruise, has it? I like that you're already planning your outfits around the bag!

I don't think you need any bottom base.
I actually think it's meant to look like a ball.
lovely!

I'm so happy for you and I wish I could have been there to see it all and slap the person who knocked over the drink. People can be so unconscious. Thankfully it was just water and your raincoat did it's job. I think that bag would really show well against a white or cream shirt, which ever is your color as most bags do. Continue to enjoy and embrace your beautiful piece of BV art and congratulations.
