I would keep it if I could justify spending that much on a bag that doesn't go with everything, and if I had a less casual lifestyle. It is so beautiful!

I took a few photos of it - I will upload and post them.

I think the Reflect Cabat looks more purple-toned than these photos show. It's really hard to capture its color because of the reflectiveness. It's also more shiny in person than it appears in these photos (in the sun, that is - it's more subdued indoors).

Wow, that is a gorgoeus bag, but way over my budget. I love the color variations in it. I am always amazed at the color that Mr Maier comes up with.

The color variations are truly amazing. It's going to be very hard for me to send this back!

Do you think of it as a dressier bag? Just curious as I am always casual, even though I work.

It does seem dressier. The reflect Cabat is a very pretty bag, very feminine - and it seems almost opulent to me. Granted, it's a quiet opulence but I still don't think I would feel comfortable carrying it while wearing khakis and a t-shirt, for instance. A good analogy (to me) would be that carrying the reflect Cabat with casual clothing would be like wearing a classic strand of pearls with a t-shirt and casual skirt/pant/shorts. It would just seem "off" to me.

I'm reluctantly sending her back. I'd love to keep her but I feel like if I spend that much on a bag, I should be able to wear it with everything. My lifestyle is very casual and the reflect Cabat, while gorgeous, is more sophisticated than I am!

I would really love to keep it but I am forcing myself to be practical. If I had unlimited funds (and less guilt) I would be fine with keeping it to use less often. It truly is a gorgeous, amazing bag - as you know, since you saw it!

very well said. i agree; when i saw the reflect cabat i thought that it was really beautiful but not me. i think dressier is the right word and very shiny. i thought my sa said the process was similiar to peltro.

Well, I am confused!!! - I think that the platino ossidato is showy/dressy though not necessarily refined, and isn't that the cabat that you have? What makes the reflet - which looks to me is less showy than PO - more dressy? To me, Birkins are refined, and I would not wear one with shorts/casual crop pants, but would wear my venetas (or a pyramid/sloane, etc.) with all.

I like pearls with everything - like diamonds with everything even more!!!... I wear my DY diamond watch w/black mother of pearl face with everything... well not my bathing suit, or a ballroom gown... I think that I am just missing the point...
I guess that I will have to see it to understand what you are saying...

But, I totally get not wanting to spend this kind of money on something that you cannot live without!

Annie, you have 3 cabats - nero among them... and apparently Birkins... ? what are the colors/materials of your other cabats? I am not in love with or committed anything - just wondering what I might want in the future. TIA!

The PO Cabat (you're right, that's the one I have) is more casual (to me) because of its distressed/antiqued look. It has so much darkness to it that it doesn't look bright gold (like ottone does, for instance). So to me, it doesn't look out of place with capris and a t-shirt and brown or black sandals (it looks great with either one, as well as other footwear, of course). The reflect Cabat (to me) would look great with dressier clothing but not with the very casual clothing I usually wear.

I actually tried to talk myself into the reflect Cabat because I really do like it, and I know I would love using it - sometimes. I just felt that I would not use it enough to justify its cost. I wouldn't wear the PO Cabat with an evening gown (not that I wear those, lol) but to me, it goes with nearly everything else I can think of, from work attire to jeans to khakis, short, capris, skirts, etc. so I felt I could justify the cost. But if it weren't antiqued/distressed, there is no way I would feel comfortable carrying it because it would be "too much" for my casual look.

I like pearls a lot, but I reserve my classic strand for when I'm more dressed up (beyond khakis and a shirt, or jeans and a t-shirt). I have more casual pearl necklaces (and earrings & bracelets, too) that I do wear with that type of clohting. Most also have sterling silver in them, and aren't like my classic strand of hand-knotted pearls. I guess it all depends on what one is comfortable wearing.

^^ I did not mean to put you on the defensive, goldenflower... I just don't get it, and will probably not until I see the reflet, IRL. It seems to be one of those "you have to be there" kind of things.

But on another level, maybe I do understand... I tried the armatura (original) veneta... on me it just looked like a large hunk of metal, and not at all appropriate to my style/wardrobe... in spite of the fact that on others or on the table it was just gorgeous... just did not work for me. I had no trouble sending that one back.
